Biography
Norwegian novelist, children's writer, journalist, and translator.
He made his literary debut in 1938 with the novel "Fager er studentens drøm" ('Fair is the dream of the student'). He wrote several children's books, including Mette og Tom i fjellet (1948), and Trapp med 9 trinn (1952). He was chairman of the Norwegian Authors' Union from 1965 to 1971.
He was the father of theatre director Kjetil Bang-Hansen and film critic Pål Bang-Hansen.
Odd Bang-Hansen died on 4 March 1984, aged 75.
