Biography
British actor who preceded Peter Davison as TV's "Doctor Who," the longest-running BBC sci-fi series about a renegade who traveled through space and time. Eight actors played Dr. Who, including William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann. Tom Baker held the longest tenure, playing Dr. Who for seven years. The series was seen in more than 80 countries and garnered an estimated audience of 100 million.
