Norwegian children's and youth writer especially known for books about young girls who fell in love and who had family problems. She had her debut in 1928, aged 22, with "Aldri voksen" ('Never grown-up'). She published a total of 73 books, her last one in 1974.
Bøgenæs died on 3 September 1985 in Norwich, UK, at the age of 78.
