Biography
Norwegian firefighter, athlete, and resistance member during World War II. He was found out by the Nazis, arrested, and tortured to death. Despite the severe torturing, he revealed nothing, and thusly spared the lives of several of those with whom he worked. Aubert was the first prisoner to be tortured to death by the Nazis at the Grini prison camp. He was the brother of Andreas Aubert.
At Røa in Oslo the street 'Kristian Auberts vei' is named after him. There is also put up a memorial stone with a plaque. "Aubertisen" ('The Aubert Ice') in Queen Maud Land in Antarctica is also named after him.
Aubert died on 19 February 1942, aged 32.

Viktor E. quotes certificate of live birth in hand. AM or PM not specified. (Before noon is most likely correct as it's somewhat unlikely that a midwife in Norway would have written 8 ½ for a time of 20 ½.)
