French pornographic painter and illustrator of the late nineteenth century who designed many erotic caricatures and engravings.

Joseph Apoux studied painting and drawing with Jean-Léon Gérôme. He then specialized in engraving with aquatint and drypoint. He exhibited from 1880 and participated in Exposition internationale du Blanc et Noir (International Exhibition of Black and White) (1886). Joly, quai Saint-Michel, and the printmaker René Pincebourde, rue de Verneuil, were his publishers between 1880 and 1900.

His date of death is unknown.
