Biography
German royalty, the daughter of Louis V, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and Magdalena von Brandenburg. She married George, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg on 14 December 1617 in Darmstadt. One of their sons was Ernest Augustus, Elector of Brunswick-Lüneburg (1629–1698), father of George I of Great Britain. She died at Herzberg Castle 6 May 1659 at the age of 57.

With an appendix of authentic and original documents" by Sir Andrew Halliday (T. and G. Underwood, 1821), p. 353: "1601, d. 30 Julii, Abends zwischen 6 u. 7 Uhr zu Darmstadt geborn."
