Biography
Duchess of Mecklenburg as the fifth child of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and his second wife Princess Anne of Hesse and by Rhine.
She was her mother's only child. Her mother died of puerperal fever a week after giving birth to her.
She had four surviving half-siblings from the six children of her father's first marriage to Princess Augusta of Reuss-Köstritz (1822–1862). From his third marriage he had four more children, so that from 1876 Anna had eight half-siblings.
She died on 8 February 1882 at 16 years of a lung inflammation.
