Biography

American birth of Sara, a 270-pound, female Asian elephant calf, Monday at 11 AM. Her parents are Icky, 25, and Charlie, 30, and she stands 39 inches high and 41 inches long. She is named for current (human) circus star Sara, the Tiger Whisperer, 24, and is the eleventh successful Asian elephant birth in Ringling Bros.'s 10-year-old conservation program. She is also the first of five young trumpeters who are expected to arrive over the coming months -- all of whom were fathered by Charlie. Congratulations, dad.
