Italian geologist who taught at the universities of Messina (1936) and Bologna (1938), mainly dealing with the petrography of the Ortles and introducing into Italy the methods of structural petrography. A member of the Lincei from 1948, he was president of the SMI from 1955 to 1957.
He died in Bologna in 1960.
