Biography
French author who was selected for the Prix Goncourt in 1940, for his book Les Grandes Vacances which chronicles the lives of French prisoners of war in 1940. The prize was awarded in 1946 because of World War II. He is also the author of several Guides Bleus (a series of French-language travel guides) for example in Paris in 1949, Greece in 1957, Italy published in 1960.
