Source Notes
Marcello Borges quotes a biography for the record of Castro's father.
Sy Scholfield quotes same data from the biography "A vida de Castro Alves" by Pedro Calmon (J. Olympio, 1947), p. 30: "Dúvida que houvesse, tirou-a o diário do Dr. Alves: 'Antônio Castro Alves, 1847 — a 14 de março nasceu meu 2.° filho Antônio Frederico de Castro Alves — às 10 horas do dia de Santa Matilde — domingo. Fazenda das Cabaceiras.'"
