Robert Albert (circa 1910)

German forestry scientist, chemist, and brilliant fencer.

In the Second World War he took over the management of the Institute for Natural History. After the war the Soviet military administration in Germany urged the reconstruction of the university so that Albert worked as a professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin in Eberswalde until 1950. Two years later, on 26 November 1952, he died, aged 83.
