Biography
French road cyclist and cyclocross racer, nicknamed Loulou, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Deceuninck–Quick-Step. He is the brother of racing cyclist Bryan Alaphilippe (born 17 August 1995).
He specialized in cyclocross when he was a junior. He came second in the "Liege-Bastogne-Liege" in 2015 and 2016.
He won the Tour of California in May 2016, and twice won the "La Flèche Wallonne" in 2018 and 2019, and the "Milano-San Remo" in 2019 (coming 2nd in 2020). Ranked world no. 1, he won two stages of the 2019 Tour de France and wore the yellow jersey for 14 days before finishing 5th (overall).After wearing again the yellow jersey in 2020 (4 days), he won the 2020 World Championship on 25th September 2020 (Imola, Italia). On 26 September 2021, he won again the World title (Louvain, Belgium).
His father was musician Jo Alaphilippe who died in June 2020. His nephew is trainer Franck Alaphilippe.
