Julie Adams (1962)

Biography

American screen actress, primarily known for her numerous television guest roles. She starred in a number of films in the 1950s, including Bend of the River (1952) opposite James Stewart, and as bathing beauty Kay Lawrence in the science-fiction flick Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). She was also known for her small screen role as Paula Denning on the 1980s soap opera Capitol and recurring role of Eve Simpson on Murder, She Wrote.

Adams, along with her son, Mitchell, authored a book on her life and career, The Lucky Southern Star: Reflections From The Black Lagoon, which was published in 2011.

Adams was married to screenwriter Leonard B. Stern and then to actor-director Ray Danton. She had two sons. Adams died on 3 February 2019 in Los Angeles, California, aged 92.
