THE MONTH OF JULY - RIDING THE DRAGON

Image: Dragon

The quality of time is exceptionally intense this month. In the first few days, the focus is on the tension between material security and personal freedom. The mood is nervous and unpredictable. Around the middle of the month, a sensitive Cancer New Moon facilitates regeneration and creative new beginnings. In the second half of the month, things speed up tremendously. We can expect strong impulses for change, along with events that can only be described in superlatives. The quality of time is shaped by fire and air themes, as well as the interaction of Jupiter with the three collective planets, and it has a distinctly positive note. Toward the end of the month, an extraordinary constellation awaits us. It has the potential to create completely new conditions. Prepare yourself for a veritable ride on the dragon!

THE CURRENT QUALITY OF TIME

Image:
Jupiter Chiron The first days of the month are shaped by a square between Jupiter in Leo and Chiron in Taurus, exact on 2 July. Both have only recently changed signs: Chiron on 19 June and Jupiter on 30 June. They are therefore bringing new themes onto the agenda. With Chiron in Taurus, the focus is on nourishment, personal and global resources, money, and material security, among other things. Jupiter in Leo emphasizes the solar principle and therefore individuality. Between the poles of a need for security and the free expression of personality, a dialogue now begins about how we should deal with resources and ownership in the future. This marks the start of a dynamic development that will continue to occupy us throughout the month.

Image: Mars Uranus On 4 July, the conjunction of Mars and Uranus in Gemini becomes exact. It is a day full of high tension and sudden developments. The quality of time is highly charged, even unpredictable, speaking of breakthroughs, new ideas, and technological leaps. But it may also bring technical disruptions, nervousness, and an increased risk of injury. Be prepared for surprises, slow your pace, and avoid acting on impulse.

On 5 July, Mars is also in an exact trine with Pluto in Aquarius and in a sextile with Neptune in Aries. Words and actions now have a powerful effect. Consider the consequences before you speak or act. But also be prepared for the fact that some of the people around you may not have done so. On 6 July, the square between the Sun in Cancer and Saturn in Aries indicates a hangover mood and the need to take responsibility.

On 7 July, Neptune turns retrograde for the first time since entering Aries, until 12 December. This period calls on us to review our visions and ideals and realign them. Since Neptune in Aries is connected with the warrior archetype, it is also about assessing the situation soberly and analyzing which of our aspirations we have achieved, and what price we paid for them.

Image: Venus On 9 July, Venus enters Virgo, squaring Uranus on the 13th. At the same time, the Cancer Sun forms a conjunction with Mercury, joined by the Moon on 14 July - it is a New Moon. Mercury is exactly at the Venus-Uranus midpoint.

In matters of love and relationships, the focus is now on very concrete things. The otherwise rather reserved Venus in Virgo receives invigorating impulses during these days. She could come up with entirely new ideas and then want to try them out. This is also a good time to begin a diet or therapy, or to radically clear out your own four walls.

Image: Cancer The Cancer New Moon calls on us to engage with inner processes. Take time for yourself and connect with the subtler forces of your being. For some, this may mean sitting in a quiet place in nature, just listening. Yet intense artistic creation can also become an unusually deep experience of self-discovery. This is a very fertile time and favors creative new beginnings. The deep waters of Cancer are an important counterpoint to the dominant Fire and Air energy of this period.

Image: Uranus Pluto Fire and Air themes also shape the remaining days of the month. On 15 July, the sextile between Uranus and Neptune becomes exact, and on 18 July the trine between Uranus and Pluto follows. Mars forms a sextile with Saturn on 19 July. On 20 July, Jupiter reaches its opposition to Pluto and its trine to Neptune, and on 21 July its sextile to Uranus. On 22 July, the Sun enters Leo.

The quality of time during these days is high-frequency, multilayered, and full of surprises. The Air trine between Uranus and Pluto, one of the most important constellations of this year, points to rapid developments. Since all three collective planets are involved through Neptune, and Jupiter activates them all within a short period of time, we can expect the effects to be clearly visible and to have a strong influence on social life. The themes involved have been with us for several years already: the profound shift from an Earth era to an Air era, and the associated changes in power relations. During these days, it may become clearer which paths humanity will take. As always when Pluto is involved, this can also mean that something is coming to a definitive end.

This is an ideal time to carry out thoroughly prepared and well-grounded projects. Something great and excellent can now succeed, and it is quite possible that we will witness spectacular and visionary undertakings. The shadow side of this quality of time is hubris. As in the myth of Icarus, losing touch with reality, arrogance, or an oversized ego can lead to spectacular failure and a plunge into the depths.

On 24 July, Mercury in Cancer turns direct again. This has a positive influence on all agreements and contract negotiations. Saturn, on the other hand, turns retrograde on 26 July until 11 December. During this period, it is important to review the past few months and make any necessary course corrections.

Image: Sun Pluto On 27 July, the Leo Sun opposes Pluto, trines Neptune, and forms a sextile with Uranus. Just as Jupiter did a few days earlier, the Sun now activates all three collective planets. Two days later, on 29 July, there is a Full Moon in Aquarius, conjunct Pluto. The Sun is in exact conjunction with Jupiter. Venus in Virgo and Mars in Gemini form a square, each forms a semi-square with the Sun and Jupiter, and a sesquiquadrate to the Moon. The horoscope shows an impressive kite figure made up of challenging aspects (see horoscope).

Image: chart full moon The days around the Full Moon are the energetic climax of this extraordinary month. The quality of time is incredibly alive and rich in possibilities. It can bring us events that can only be described in superlatives. This may be a technological breakthrough, a powerful social impulse, or the emergence of an entirely new voice in the collective that will have an impact far into the future. Be open to what is now appearing in the world. The quality of time is positively charged and supportive, especially for endeavors that serve both your own well-being and the good of all. Use this Full Moon to gather courage for your very own next steps, and allow yourself to be inspired. During these days, a kind of crystallization process will begin in human consciousness, which wants to be shaped by all of us over a long period of time.

Yet even this promising constellation contains a shadow theme that we must keep an eye on. This quality of time can tempt us toward overconfidence or hubris like no other. Narcissistic personalities are given an ideal stage. Do not be too quick to let yourself be dazzled by greatness and glamour. Stay critical, do not forget to think for yourself, and trust your judgment. In the Air era that is now becoming more clearly visible, the point is participation, not submission to an ideology!

THE PERSONAL QUALITY OF TIME

Image: personal Powerful mundane constellations, such as the ones occurring this month, can tempt us to assume that a particular quality of time applies equally to everyone. However, as we all know from experience, this is only sometimes true. Your life follows its own rhythms. The personal quality of time can only be interpreted by considering the transits in relation to the natal chart.

If you are familiar with astrology, you can, for example, check which transits you have on the day of the Full Moon on 29 July. The easiest way to do this is in the Mundane+ section of the Daily Horoscope or by creating a transit chart for this day in the Extended Chart Selection.

For an interpretation of your very personal quality of time for the next 12 months, we recommend the Yearly Horoscope Analysis by Liz Greene or the Transits of the Year by Robert Hand. The free Short Horoscope Forecast also gives you a selection of important transits for the coming months.
