The antiscion of a planet is usually defined as the degree equidistant to that planet on the opposite side of the Cancer-Capricorn Axis in the natal chart. For example the antiscion of 25 degrees Gemini is located at 5 degrees of Cancer, or that of 21 degrees Pisces at 9 degrees of Libra. Planets located on these degrees are considered to be connected to each other, and they are seen as being influential when a planet crosses them by progression or transit. In modern terminology it is also known under the alternative name "contrascion".
Sometimes the term is used to refer to points on either side of the Aries-Libra axis.
