Astrodienst is pleased to present its cooperation with The Evolving Astrologer (until 2022 The Career Astrologer), the magazine published by the Organization for Professional Astrology. The magazine is directed at all those interested in Astrology, newcomers and professionals alike.
We will publish articles from The Evolving Astrologer in about 6-weekly intervals. A new issue appears four times a year, at the March equinox, June solstice, September equinox, and December solstice.

Home is where the heart is, and it is also where the family is. The Imum Coeli (IC) is a significant part of discerning the influence of family in the chart. Still, it holds an even deeper resonance to the thread of genetic heritage and spirit that passes through generations of time. To test the hypothesis of the importance of the IC in passing on genetic gifts and traumas, I randomly chose an actress whose mother was also an actress, and wow, it did not disappoint.

The transiting Nodal Axis of the Moon ingresses into Virgo/Pisces on January 11, 2025. It will remain in these signs for 18 months and egresses on July 26, 2026. The Nodal Axis moves in a retrograde fashion through the zodiacal wheel and so the South Node will move from Libra to Virgo and the North Node from Aries to Pisces. In Evolutionary Astrology, the transiting Nodes are the leading edge of soul growth in the present incarnation.

Forty-six years ago, Chiron was discovered by Astronomer Charles Kowal on November 1, 1977. Kowal timed the discovery to “A few minutes before 10 am." The chart was rectified by astrologers Zane Stein and Al H. Morrison to 9:56 am in Pasadena, California. Chiron is in mid-Aries at the 2023 December Solstice, about 7° from the True North Node, a conjunction that perfects on Feb 19, 2024.

There are a few basic inquiries that comprise an astrologer’s bread and butter. One of the top three questions must be “Is this a good relationship?” Honestly, my eyebrows furrow when I hear this question. Don’t get me wrong. I am always inquisitive to find the answer and excited to evaluate the charts. The furrow forms because the client usually has an agenda and wants a “Yes.” Unfortunately, the answer may not be what the client wants to hear.

Rock-pop singing legend Tina Turner passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 83. Tina was born with Uranus retrograde at 19° Taurus 12’, and on the day of her death Uranus was at 19° Taurus 46’. In Medical Astrology, there are two main charts to assess when consulting with a client. We can create a decumbiture (horary) chart for the moment the person falls ill or asks for help. This chart gives us a better sense of the present medical situation and can offer clues that help with diagnosis and possible courses of treatment. For the third column in OPA's forensic astrology series, I was presented with five mystery charts pertaining to a single violent event. It was revealed that the victim had been beaten to death at the time indicated by the event chart, but no other details were provided. This exercise aims to help demonstrate how astrological charts could be interpreted in a real-life situation with very little background information to go on.

One of the biggest challenges of reading natal charts is understanding how a person sees themselves, whether they are a client or public figure. Astrologers know that without the context of knowing a person well, it can be very difficult to discern their self-image. Mythologically, Jupiter and Pluto are polar opposites. Jupiter is a sky god whose position in the heavens gave him the ability to be omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. He was in charge of laws and higher-order. Pluto was the god of the Underworld, powerful and wealthy in his own right. When looking at a natal chart for the first time my attention is always drawn to the distribution of planets. In my opinion this factor is nearly as important as the signs of Sun, Moon, Ascendant and their rulers. The main aim of this article is to show that much information can be gained about the basic inclination of a person by examination of hemispheres, quadrants and aspect pictures.

"Kings and queens are born and die during eclipses" – the ancient saying says. An eclipse consists of a Sun/Moon/Nodes conjunction or opposition (New or Full Moon on the Nodes). Since the Lunar Nodes themselves are the intersection point between the Solar and Lunar orbit as seen from the earth, an eclipse occurs when they indeed align exactly on those points. The Sun and Moon can only be eclipsed because from our earth perspective they appear to be exactly the same size.
