French painter and political activist. He joined The Grand Orient de France (GODF), the largest of several Masonic organizations in France, in 1953 and was its president from 1971 until his death on 7 February 1973.

His autobiography, Trois points, c'est tout (Three points, that's all) was published in 1976. The cover shows him in freemasonic formal dress.


Homme politique et un artiste peintre français. Militant trotskiste pendant les années 1930-40, il est élu à la tête du Grand Orient de France (GODF) en 1971, poste qu'il conserve jusqu'en 1973.
