French politician (Minister of national Education) and lawyer of Jewish father (Zay comes from "See") and protestant mother, murdered by militiamen in 1944. In 2014, he was chosen by François Hollande to enter the French Pantheon in 2015. Known for having proposed the creation of the Cannes Film Festival in 1938, planned for debut in 1939 (but really in 1956, after war).
