Peruvian businessman and politician who has served as the 153rd Prime Minister of Peru since 28 July 2016.
In 1995 he entered public life as CEO of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI), a position he held until September 2000.
He was Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, during the government of Alejandro Toledo, happening in the position to Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, who previously had named as deputy minister in that portfolio.
In 2006 he began working at the company Backus and Johnston as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Relations. After three years in office, he was named the president of National Brewery – SABMiller Panamá.
In November 2013 he returned to Perú as President of Backus and Johnston, a position he held until July 2016.
