French writer, filmmaker, and screenwriter.

Vautrin (pen-name meaning "wild boar") became famous in 1989, winning the Prix Goncourt for his novel "A major step towards God". He also won the 1986 Prix Goncourt de la Nouvelle for "Baby-boom".
