Dutch teacher, writer and essayist, becoming suddenly famous with his novel "Knielen op een bed violen".

Siebelink grew up in a strictly living Calvinistic family. His father Jan Siebelink (1907 - 1971) belonged to the "Paauweanen", followers of the sect of Reverent Jan Pieter Paauwe (18 Oct 1872 4 AM, Smitshoek - 6 July 1956, Den Haag). In his famous novel "Kneeling on a bed violins" Siebelink called Ref. Paauwe "J.J. Poort" (JJ Gate), referring to the fact that Ref. Paauwe served as a gate watcher like Saint Peter, a mediator between heaven and hell.

For his father, the flower breeder Hans Sievez (from SIEbelink Vader en Zoon) in his autobiographical novel, life on earth was nothing more than a preparation for afterlife. For this reason, he and his family had to suffer in the hope for a blessed afterlife. But being a "bevintelijk" (experimental) Christian, Paauwe and Siebelink Sr. believed that the official church dogma's, a church goer had to believe in, did not tell full the truth. So, his father sent him to the public elementary school, as the Christian school was even worse and more deceptive, actually the path of the Antichrist, as the for his principals from the Dutch Reformed church expelled Ref. Paauwe believed his snaky wisdom opponents were. So the religious word was set upside down. Believe in me, and you will be relieved and get knowledge of the Universe said the snake in Paradise in the story of Eden. But who is who in the not like Eden born in present time?

The confused Siebelink Jr. became an elementary school teacher (PABO), learned Dutch and French and studied in his spare time French language and literature. From 1970 till 2001 he was a teacher French at the Marnix college in Ede. In addition to his teaching job he started writing and he spent several novels forth and stories. In the severnties he interviewed and learned from literary giants like Milan Kundera, Julien Gracq, James Purdy and E.M. Cioran in Paris (bundled as Conversaties).

His debute bundle of five short stories "Nachtschade" (1975, nightshade, Solanum) dealt with what his father would call Sodom and Gomorrah. But the the poisonous family of herbs Solanaceae, also produce potential beneficial alkaloids like nicotine and atropine.

His most important novels are "De herfst zal schitterend zijn" (1980, The fall will be gorgeous), "En joeg de vossen door het staande koren" (1982, And chased the fox by the standing grain, referring to Judges 15:4), "De overkant van de rivier" (1990, Across the river), Vera (1997), Margaretha (2002) and best-seller Kneeling on a bed violins (2005). In the latter book Siebelink talks about the religious circle in which his father belonged and how he himself was involved in this. Seventeen thousands Dutch copies were sold within one year. He became suddenly a rich person.

Siebelink also wrote essays on and was fascinate by the decadent French literature of his age. In 1977 he translated the work "À Rebours" (1884, as "Tegen de keer") of Joris-Karl Huysmans (1848-1907).

Siebelink lives in Ede and enjoys driving his white cabriolet that brings him to his public.
