Source Notes

Sy Scholfield quotes "Cherry's Jubilee: Singin' and Swingin' Through Life with Dino and Frank, Arnie and Jack" by Don Cherry and Neil T. Daniels (Chicago: Triumph, 2006), p. 3: "Donald Ross Cherry first came into the world at ten o'clock on a cold Friday night, January 11, 1924. . . . 'the Wichita Falls area of Texas. That's where I was born.'" In the same book, he clarifies, "[my friend Carroll Shelby and I] were both born on the same exact day and at the same exact time (January 11 at 10:20 PM) in Texas."
