Italian chemist, known as the first to thoroughly establish the therapeutic and biological action of lecithin and for his research on the therapeutic action of cholesterol and derivatives, which he introduced in therapy in 1912-1914.
The principle of Cesare Serono's discoveries was always based on biological medicine, namely the treatment of pathologies and morbid states with products extracted from the same organ of healthy, scientifically treated animals.
He died on 23 December 1952 in Rome.
