Valentin Paniagua


Peruvian lawyer and politician, was Interim President after the fall of Fujimorato. In late 2000, after the dismissal of Martha Hildebrandt, he took over as President of the Congress, with the resignation and subsequent dismissal of Alberto Fujimori, was appointed Interim President of the Republic of Peru from 22 November 2000 until 28 July 2001 with the main purpose of conducting the presidential elections won by Alejandro Toledo Manrique.

Five years after he left the presidency of the republic, after being hospitalized due to his poor health, from 21 August to 16 October 2006, died last day at 5:00 am. He was the best president of remembrance from his teacher Fernando Belaunde Terry, according to surveys of support group the first half of 2006.
