Mexican volcano eruption of Mt. Popocatepetl which spewed out ash and gas for nearly a half hour, covering three sections on the outskirts of Mexico City. The neighborhoods of Tlalpan, Tlahuac and Iztapalapa were covered with a thin film of ash that settled on their houses, cars and trees. The National Center for Disasters Prevention called the outburst "moderately strong" from the 17,886-ft volcanic mountain.
