Sy Scholfield quotes Markwart in "There's no tonic in sight for fizzling team," by Kevin Paul Dupont, The Boston Globe, 26 March 1995, p. 57: "according to [my] mom {Darlene} . . . I was born in Toronto -- Dec. 9, 1964 -- and my folks were at a Leafs game that night. They left around 10 o'clock and I was born at 11:50."
