German physician who studied in Bonn and Freiburg, becoming a medical doctor in 1884, then an assistant at the Berlin hospital Friedrichshain from 1885 to 1887. From 1887 to 1893 he worked in the clinic in Kiel, and in 1889 was habilitated. From 1896 he was a professor.
He died on 26 October 1916, aged 56.
