Silesian-born American poet, an exponent of concrete poetry, also known as shape poetry or visual poetry.
Sy Scholfield quotes him in "An Anthology of Concrete Poetry" by Emmett Williams (Something Else Press, 1967), p. 333: "As for the 'bio-bibliographical' notes you request: I was born at 8 pm (I was told) September 8 (Virgo), 1921, and acquired gray hair sooner than some. I was born in Gleiwitz, Germany, or Gliwice, Poland, in the province of Upper Silesia."
