American poet, author, critic, translator, and one of the screenwriters for the 1965 cult classic sci-fi film 'Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster.' He has taught creative writing, literature, and film studies at Hollins University since 1964. Dillard has been the editor of the Hollins Critic since 1996, and also served as the vice president of the Film Journal from 1973 to 1980.
