Carl Bosch


German chemist, engineer, industrialist. Bosch's scientific work created a capacity to sustain the world's need for food production. In 1935 he became chairman of I.G. Farben. When Hitler came to power, he was the most vocal anti- Nazi in the industrial community.

He was awarded the Nobel Prize, 1931.

He died on 26 April 1940, Heidelberg, Germany, after years of suffering from alcohol and depression.
