French jewish singer of the "yéyé" period, in the sixties, born to an "ambassadeur". He grew up between Argentina and England, attending the College in Brighton. He sang many covers of American hits. Known for having been the friend of the Beatles, he recorded in Abbey Road. His single "Aranjuez mon amour", inspired by the famous concerto and written by Guy Bontempelli was sold at 5 millions copies over the world.

Married twice, he has recognized nine children.
