American film actor, singer and songwriter, known as the Arizona Cowboy.

He was particularly known as the narrator in many Disney nature and Western film productions. The work earned him the nickname, "The Voice of the West." One of Allen's most successful recordings was the single "Don't Go Near The Indians" which reached the top 5 of Billboard magazine's Hot Country Singles chart in November 1962. For contributions to the recording industry, Allen was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

He died on December 17, 1999 in Tucson, Arizona, of a massive coronary.
