A bus with Belgian school children crashed into the wall of a highway tunnel near Siders, cantone Wallis, in Switzerland. 22 children and all six adults, including the bus driver, were killed. 24 children survived injured and were transported to Swiss hospitals. The two school classes were on their return trip from ski vacation in Switzerland to Belgium.
The details of the accident are yet unknown. It is said that the bus touched the sidewalk in the tunnel, the driver then lost control and the bus crashed into the wall of an emergency stop niche in the tunnel.
