American actress, the first actress of Chinese descent to become a major box-office star in many silent films. One of her more memorable and sensational performances was in Fairbank's film, "Thief Of Baghdad." She was also known on stage abroad with a long string of hits in the '30s that gradually dwindled. Off screen, she was a proud and aloof woman who never married.
Died of a heart attack on 2/03/1961.
