Belgian physician, the first great anatomist and most celebrated of all dissectionist. By the age of 20 he was a master of knowledge of the body and by the age of 23 he was a professor of anatomy at the University. The author of "De Humani Corporis Fabrica," Vesalius had a scandal once when he began an autopsy on the body of a person not quite dead.
