As soon as he was four, he began to learn to play his instrument with his father Raymond, professional musician. Acting as a resistant during the second world war, he spent several months at Dachau concentration camp. In 1974, driving his car, he lost his wife Micheline in a road accident.
He has published his memories ("Mon accordeon et moi").
Born 4 days before Alain Mimoun (famous Marathonian), he died some days after him on 10 July 2013. Himself dreamt to become a cyclist racer and every summer he played on stage after the rounds of the Tour de France to animate bals and dances (for 11 years).
