Biography
American teacher and operatic singer. Achieving a B.A. in psychology in 1949, he worked for four years as a high school guidance counselor and began voice study in 1956. After a four year apprenticeship in Europe, Thomas established himself as an operatic tenor with a reputation for excellence in German and Italian roles and became a member of the Met in 1962. He died on October 11, 1993 in San Francisco, CA.
