Biography
American social activist, an advocate of marijuana reform and manager of the 60s hard rock band, the MC5.
On his third drug conviction, Sinclair was sentenced to ten years in prison for possession of two joints of marijuana in 1969. He was freed in December 1971 following a rally held in his defence, at which John Lennon appeared and sang his new song, "John Sinclair".
