Biography
British politician whose name was proposed as a replacement for John Major in mid-June 1995 when Major threatened to resign. Insisting on a vote of confidence from his Party, Major soundly defeated Redwood in the contest for Conservative Party leadership. Redwood took the post of Secretary of State for Wales.
