Biography

Scottish singer, well known and loved throughout Great Britain, former lead singer of "Fairground Attraction." Possessed of a staggering vocal technique, Reader is able to transmit the emotions in a song directly to her audience with intimacy and impact.

She began her career in the early 1980s when she traveled throughout Europe with a group of circus performers. Eventually settling in London, she found work as a session vocalist for the next eight years. She was nicknamed "Ever Ready" due to her willingness to accept any offered work and performed with groups like the "Eurythmics" and "The Waterboys." Her reputation as a performer grew with the successful release of "Fairground Attraction’s" debut album, "First of a Million Kisses," in 1988. The band broke up shortly afterward, however, and Reader launched her solo career with "Mirmama," 1992. She released a self-titled album in 1994, and more recently she completed "Simple Soul," 2001.
