He was one of the best road cyclists racers of his area and reached the first rank in the world.

Finished Italian "Giro" at the second place, in 1990.

Twice only at the fourth in the Tour de France: this little "centaurus" was suffering of liver failure when the weather was very hot.

After retiring, "Petit Charly" organized races in France and Quebec.
