Biography
American cyclist who was the first American to win the Tour de France in 1986. An accident interrupted his career but he won the Tour again in 1989 and 1990. He has several other championship titles to his name. He has decried the use of performance enhancing drugs in the sport, claiming that Lance Armstrong is not innocent in doping allegations. In August 2006 correspondence fellow cyclist Floyd Landis Lemond claimed that he (LeMond) had been sexually abused as a child.
