American noted family and businessman, the CEO of Coors Brewing Company made an unsuccessful run for the US Senate in 2004.
A graduate of Cornell University with a degree in engineering, he earned his MBA in 1970 from the University of Denver. He joined the family brewing business founded by his great-grandfather Adolph Coors. In 1987 he took over as President of the company, following in his father's footsteps. In 1993 he became vice chairman and CEO of the company. In 2002 he was named Chairman of Coors Brewing Company and Adolph Coors Company.
Coors is married and has six children. On May 28, 2006 he was arrested in his own driveway for not stopping at a stop sign and for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. In July 2006 at a hearing his drivers' license was revoked.
