Biography

German composer and music teacher (surname also spelled Bausznern). He conducted various choirs; after 1909 he became director of the Großherzoglichen Musikschule in Weimar. From 1916 to 1923 he served as director of the Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main. In 1923 he became undersecretary of the Academy of Arts, Berlin. He died August 20, 1931 in Potsdam.

Sy Scholfield cites birth record quoted in "Waldemar von Baußnern. Leben, Werk Rezeption" by Karl Teutsch and ‎Monica Vlaico (GMV, Gehann-Musik-Verlag, 2003), p. 28: "in Berlin ... Hier wurde ihnen am 29. November 1866 mittags zwölf Uhr dreißig ein Sohn geboren. Sie nannten ihn Arnold Edmund Waldemar und ließen ihn am 27. Dezember 1866 in der Berliner Zions-Kapelle taufen ...
