Caroline
Smith studied fashion and graphics at Reigate College of Art. Early
70s was a major fashion illustrator for such magazines as Harpers,
Queen, Elle, Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Designed and illustrated for
major accounts such as Mary Quant, Libertys, Simpsons. In the late
70's worked on Crabtree and Evelyn and Culpepper's packaging. Since
the early 80's has concentrated solely on painting and has carried
out large murals for hotels in Hong Kong, Singapore and Egypt. Regular
exhibitions in galleries around the UK and Europe. Caroline Smith
lives in France.

1978
Show at the Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne
1979-1980 Commissioned by the Egyptian
Government to paint three large murals and two engraved glass doors
for the Pyramids Hotel, Cairo.
1980-1981 Commission 12 paintings for
the Shangri La Hotel in Hong Kong.
1981 Designed the programme and interior
of the Dorchester Hotel for the "Chariots of Fire" Royal Premier
reception.
1982-1983 Working on paintings for the
1984 exhibition and private commissions.
1984 One woman exhibition at Smith's
Gallery, London.UK
1985 Commission for 18 paintings for
the Mandarin Hotel in Singapore completed.
1986 Spent part of the year in Northern
Italy working on a series of paintings.
1987-1989 Completed a new series of designs
for a Tarot Deck published by Viking UK and Doubleday in the States.
Some of the original paintings for this deck were the subject of
an exhibition in Totem Gallery, Seaford, UK in 1990.
1991 Open exhibition during Brighton
Festival
1992-1997 Commissioned works for Australia
and US.clients. UK Galleries and open studio exhibitions.
1998 Exhibition Rye Gallery, Sussex
1999 - 2000 Commissioned work and open
studio exhibitions.
