Hello, I happened to stumble onto you site, I have the Sidereal Astrology Primer by Cyril Fagan but I have some difficulties with it. I am trying to convert my tropical astrological chart into a sidereal horscope. I am trying to get the exact date I was born in sidereal time so I can work with that date in getting some consultation with the tropical astrological software programs (Matrix). Also is there any good sidereal software that with give a report of the like Matrix that will give an interpretetation of what the configurations mean? Always a wonderful site and very educational. I tried to add 1566 Icarus to Pullen's chart for 10.31.99. The chart printed with the 4 major asteroids; I tried to eliminate a few asteroids the second time and still cannot locate Icarus. Thank you in advance and keep up your good work!

I have been doing bioenergy research for several years. When bioenergy patterns that related to blood types and primary temperaments were found, I still observed that there was another element that was evident but not easily tested in the bioenergy fields over the body. The new birth data entry forms are great, as are the types of charts made available, especially the newly included ones. It would be helpful to have the option of switching from the print chart format(without words) back to a new birth entry form & to the chart selection site directly instead of having to retrace steps. First of all, I'd like to congratulate you for this great site. My only doubt is: In Brazil my Sun Sign is Scorpio and my Ascendant is Virgo. In your chart my Sun Sign is Libra and Ascendant is Virgo. Which one must I follow?

Alois adds: A chart is not different in Brazil from anywhere else, it is either correctly computed or not. Please give me your birth data, if you want me to check the calculation. Many people do not know their correct sun sign if they never had a proper chart computed. The change of signs is not every year on the same calendar day, and certailnly not precisely at midnight. did you delete the composite and synastry chart options? they don't seem to be there any more.

I'm wondering if you plan on keeping the atlas style of birth information input available along with the new format, or at some point will the new replace the old? I hope it's possible to keep them both because, for the most part I much prefer the atlas style. It's much easier to do chart rectification, VOC Moon, or anything else which requires going back and making changes. The synastry option is nice with the new format though. Your site is great! I have been into astrology for ten years have studied a load of books on the subject and still do not know much. My question is, have you heard of Magi Astrology? It is an American astrological society with some earthshaking new theories, especially on Chiron, which according to them is the romance planet number one. They dismissed planets in signs and houses altogether and put the greatest emphasis on planetary geometry. In working on my own project I came across your product on the web, and I'm trying to understand how to use the free edition while I develop my software. I plan on purchasing the professional edition at some point farther down the road. Anyway, in looking at sweph.c I noticed that, at least in my copy, the brace on line 916 for function swe_close() has a matching end brace at line 972. In looking at the printout it seems obvious the intention was for the function to end at line 980 instead. Hope this information is useful to you. Will be talking to you later. I LOVE your site, and have told many, many people about it - including my astrology classmates! I was very sorry to find this new design, though. It is cumbersome, inefficient, and nearly unusable. I rarely visit any more. The glyphs are obscure and idiosyncratic, the charts don't fit a page well, the important information (degrees, etc.) are small, marginalized, and difficult to read. If the Data were mved slightly closer,or the wheel slightly reduced,it would make a better fit.Also check the House Cusp Webstyle readouts~Degrees and Minites seem to be REVERSED.Also,when printing black and white,Numbers are difficult to read.If colors were DARKENED,it might solve the problem(particularly with 6's and 8's).Request: the addition of the Davidson Method relationship charts(midpoint in time and space).They are difficult to compute manually.If not, the addition of the Julian Date to basic chart data would be helpful. Alois adds: it is a while back that Switzerland was part of Germany, about 700 years, but I personally am in fact German, not Swiss, so you are not fully wrong. the printing problems arise from ridiculous limitations in the browsers's printing capabilities, except with Postscript printers. The best is to go for 100% charts, save the image locally as GIF files, and open with some image editing software. It will allow you to scale and print in much better quality because it will be using the printer's higher resolution. If you don't know how to save an image: click on it with the right mouse button and check the menu which appears gthen. The Davison relationship charts (called Kombin in German, midpoint in time and space) are there, if you use the new chart entry form and have entered data for two persons (only then the feature makes any sense). If you download gthe 'additional data tables' in Acrobat format which exist for most types of charts, you will find lots of details, e.g. Julian day numbers, and perfectly printable thanks to Adobe. I love your webside,it has helped me a graet deal.I usually read it in english and in german. I think the free daily horoskop is just great.keep going and thanks a lot

When I displayed the database of others with my birthday, I clicked on a name and the old chart appeared. I'm sure someone has noted this before, but just in case... when doing a chart for 10/30/65 in EST, the program assigns a timezone of Daylight Savings Time. At present, this would be correct, but in 1965, DST began earlier in the year - I wish I could recall exactly when - 2nd or 3rd week in October, I believe. The later October date was set sometime in the last 20 years, I think. Wish I could recall that as well... But I am sure that in 1965, this person was been born in EST. Anyhow, I'm glad you have the manual timezone check so I could change this. I'd been wondering why earler charts didn't quite fit... Thanks! RH

You need to name the place if you want us to do more research on it. I was only trying to find out whether a given birthtime was standard or daylight time. I ended up printing out the entire chart and mine as well because they are so clear and readable. I love the transit rhythmogram, too. Very intuitive.

Yesterday I asked you about the time-zone for Vancouver on 2nd Oct.,1972. I have never had access to a daylight time calculation in programs. I have made hundreds of natal charts for my friends, but it seems as I've done it all wrong (not using the daylight time). Does a table of such data exist on your pg. or elsewhere on the net ? I would sincerely like to thank you for Astrodienst. It's absolutely great and I really love it. And I love Astrology all over again. Thanks, guys !

Alois adds: the information is far to complex to publish as tables. You can by the book American Atlas by Thomas Shanks, which has all the US and Canada data, and the International atlas for the rest of the world, or you can use Astrodienst Online for your charts, where all the timezone data are builtin for free. GREAT SITE!!! if for no other reason than the "emancipation" of astrology is furtherd thus.I believe the new entry format is somewhat problematic, in that one can not jump back to change times-if one is looking for when planets might be at just such and such a point ,or place- as readily as the old format allows us to.One great question I have is, where is the fixed star REGULUS currently? Question: Mutual reception - what does it mean when the moon is in aquarius and uranus is in cancer (4th and 9th houses) and, the sun in scorpio (1st) while Pluto is in Leo (10th). Four of my planets are in "mutual reception" but the meaning escapes me and, I can't find an answer among the literature.

I'm overwelmed by your site. It's really great. I've been foolin' around with astrology for around 10 yrs. and no matter who or which program made my natal chart, my Ascendent was always Aquarius. According to your calcucations, it's Capricorn. I always used the time zone -8 for Vancouver (according to Greenwich), you use -9. How come ? Data: 2.10.1972, 15:20, Vancouver, B.C., Canada

I am very pleased with your service, the online charts as well as the specially drawn up personal astrograms. The connection to Jung's psychology is excellent. However, Jung's theories have now been further developed by Watzlawick, Rogers, etc. who give you not only the instruments to "know yourself" but also a hint of the purpose of your life. It might be interesting to develop your programs accordingly.

Hello, I wonder if you could help me with some questions about a solar return chart. I'm not really sure how to get the correct chart for myself. I am from Australia and now in Sweden and would like to know do i type in my date and time of birth and just change the place from Leongatha Australia to Stockholm Sweden? It's my birthday this Friday and do i would like a solar return chart for the coming year so do i have to change the date from 1999 to 2000? Alois adds: If you use the NEW chart entry form, you can just enter your normal natal data, on on the location part, enter the place where you live. Theh proceed to the chart selection and solar return. As house system you will wnat to use the same as you use for natal charts. House systems are a matter of taste, like car brands or designer labels. There is no better or worse. Thank you for the free charts. I am wondering why there are 2 Battle Creek Michigans in your city file (?) I don't know which one is correct so I did my chart twice. Please explain. Thanks! Jeni

Thank you! Astrodienst is the most useful astrological site on the web. I use it constantly in my studies and am so grateful for this resource. I especially like the great menu of charts and tables available. I AM frustrated with the new format (Oct. 99). I liked being able to pull up a chart for my local time and location without going through all the steps now required. I do like having the data for composite charts. But I really do not like loosing the atlas. It is more useful for me to do my own searches. Tonight I could not access the data on the Isle of Wight in GB although I know I have accessed this location in the past. It is also harder to brouse through the VIP lists. I hope this site doesn't deteriorate into a more "popular" format. There are plenty of those now. It is great to have a working resource for serious students.

Alois adds: thanks fopor the feedback. We have no plans to remove the old atlas entry form. However, it would have been technically impossible to add the entry of a second set of natal data, which is required to do synastry or composite charts. Me might add a 'chart for now' button to the new entry form, but we are not sure whether we should load to many features into this form as all additional features confuse novice users. The data content has not changed, so your Isle of Wight problems must have another reason. We will certainly try to offer more to the non-expert user, but will not reduce hte level of service for the experts, at the contrary (just check our later additions among the chart types, and the PDF format data tables). Our Internet link is sometimes saturated now due to higher demand, but we will upgrade our lines in the near future. I was really impressed with the exact itemization of all the format material. I will surely use this service again!

Alois adds: If you entered correct data you got a correct chart. Hello! Something is wrong with the --calculations for daily horoscopes. When I asked for a daily horoscope for a birthdate of 6/29/69, South Lake Tahoe, CA, 9:45 pm, for the day of October 1, 1999, one of the transits listed of importance was a sun-conjunction-moon. As you know, the moon is in cancer while the sun is in Libra--squared, instead, as the day's wheel shows. Some of the other transits listed seem fishy, also? I'm positive of no errors on my end. I love logging on, looking up composites and transits. (I only see my astrologer once a year) I love LOVE your site. I visit it daily...smile. The new daily horoscope feature is Fab-a-lous! Smile. I had a question - I am very new to astrology, but I am wondering about the transits that are selected for the daily horoscope - every time that I check - the transits include moon, sun, mars venus and mercury. I am wondering if the daily ever includes any major transits with slower planets, saturn, jupiter - etc. (or maybe my chart is not being affected by such things now) I've spent a lot of time studying transits, and would love to have some insight on say: Saturn conjunct 7 - etc...
