Thank you very much for this good job. I want to ask you; where can I find Summertime practice years in Turkey? Second, I have "Expert Astrologer CD", is it good? Thanks again.

Alois adds: you can interactively find out for every date whether daylight time applied or not. We do not publish the tables per se (for copyright reasons).

Thank you Miss Greene for sending me my chart interpritation last week. But I have been reading your books on Neptune and Saturn and I'm wondering if there is any more info I need added to my chart? I've been doing my own investigating on the matter, as it relates to my reading, and its' very heavy stuff. Loving every minute of it. Bye bye redemption, hello happiness. Signed;from Neptune in the 4th house, I'm daddy now.

I am soooo very happy that I found this site. I have had many requests for charts from people who were born in the Former Soviet Union, Poland, India, etc. I have been searching and searching the Internet to get those latitudes and longitudes. I will forever be grateful to you for this wonderful service...Unceasing blessing to you.

Alois adds: Chiron and the Moon's Node.

This is just my own answer to Anetha bellow:The site is as hard as it should be.It forces you to learn if you haven´t already learnt, and that´s the point of everything, isn´t it?

It will tell you your Sun sign, your Ascendant and all other planetary positions. Just try it out. It is very simple, nearly a million of users have done it before you.

This is a wonderful site. It is throrough, accurate and really well designed. Living in Canada, all the accessible astrology software is geared for the United States and therefore it has been hard to find data on our own country. My only criticism is you left out New Brunswick, the province of my birth on the east coast of Canada. It's okay, we're used to it. Again, many thanks for your fabulous information.

Patricia Stuart [ * ]
Toronto, Canada --- Friday, January 23, 1998 at 21:47 Swiss time

Alois adds: It is would not be OK, but we did not leave it out. You cannot just enter a province name and expect cities listed, you must enter a city name. For example, check Naswaaksis. To get a list of cities in New Brunswick, you have to enter
i.e. a comma followed by NB. There will be 93 hits. OK?

A wonderful site! I have great astrology interpretation software - but have often felt hindered by not having exact geographic I do! I found your site thru Jonathan Crainer's horoscope site. Thanks so much and continued success.

Thanxs for this beautiful free ! site. I am an amateur since many years and it helps a lot not having to calculate everything "by hand/brain"...Just few questions though... The Astro-Worldmap chart looks so interesting. Could you give me a clue or refer to books on how to interprete this type of chart please ? And the sign and house hierarchy dispositors ? My natal chart includes a full Davidstar (two complete triangles/sextiles and of course a bunch of squares...never came accross an interpretation on this. What would you say if my Chiron-position conjuncts exactly with my Pars Fortunae ? I'm sure I ask too much, but if you could answer only half of these questions I would be more than happy. Saluti!!..from a spontanious Saggit./asc./Taurus.

Alois adds: I am afraid you confused something. We offer a free charts, which means a drawing, but not a free chart READING.

I want to know what Chi, and Nod mean on the chart. Are they the new planets or something? Please tell me, Im really confused!!

Matt Cowan [ * ]
Snohomish, USA --- Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at 23:59 Swiss time

Alois adds: Chi is Chiron, an asteroid, and Nod is the Moon's Node.

I read your interview on the Astro*Intelligence program conducted 10 years ago. It answered a lot of questions I had about the nature of the analyses created by the program. I assume the program is upgraded and revised as time goes on, yes? Also, what do you forsee for the future of these kinds of knowledge-based programs?

Michael Tumilty [ * ]
San Francisco, CA --- Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at 21:51 Swiss time

Alois adds: The rules have grown somewhat over time when charts came up which the program could not understand, or when interpretations went obviously wrong and we knew enough about the personalities involved. But the changes are not really visible; it is very likely that a reading of 1988 would come out the same today. The Psychological Horoscope Analysis is a long running bestseller and one does not feel much need to fix what is still very solid.

The effort to create such a program is very large and considerable talent is required. To my knowledge nobody in the field has picked up our approach. We have used the same technique of course for additional reports, particularily the Child's Horoscope, the Relationship Horoscope, the Yearly Horoscope Analysis and forthcoming reports.

Thank You for the free charts. I belong to a small spiritual study group and we are now begining to delve into astrology. Your charts have been most helpful!

Thank You for this program!!! Many others just want to get money from my kind of people, who are interested about atrology (and mostly, in my case, natal charts). I don´t own that kind of sums that those greedy people want, and I´m quite happy to investigate natal charts by my self, I don´t need any 100 pages wide reports. THANK YOU!

help. what was the moon zodiac signs for oct. 24 and oct. 25th 1997?

deb leoni [ * ]
las vegas --- Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at 05:52 Swiss time

Alois adds: The Moon moved from 13° Leo to 6°Virgo during these two days. It was very quick to setup two charts and look at the Moon's positions.

Are the interpretations by Liz Greene based on a computer program, or are they actually written independently by her? In other words, does each paragraph in the analysis just describe the meaning of a certain planet in a certain sign or house, or is the whole chart blended and written by a real astrologer? Also, are important midpoints considered at all in the interpretation? (By the way, this site is the best. I could spend all day making charts. Thanks again for providing this generous service. Although, I wish the midpoint chart in the program calculated the Asc. and the Mc.)

Michael Tumilty [ * ]
San Francisco, USA --- Wednesday, January 21, 1998 at 01:30 Swiss time

Alois adds: The reports we offer are computer generated, but they are very different from the cookbook-style computer reports offered elsewhere. The whole chart is analyzed and to a large extent sythesized (blended). This is why we call our technique 'Astro*Intelligence' as a pun on 'artificial intelligence'. Please visit this page for more information.

Liz Greene does not consider midpoints in her reading, not in the computer model and usually also not in personal readings. Personal readings are available by apointment, but you have to come to Switzerland, Liz does them not by phone or mail.

Die Horoskopzeichnung gefällt mir sehr gut, beim Ausdrucken erscheint sie aber ziemlich klein. Ist es möglich, sie auch grösser zu drucken?

Christine [ * ]
Zürich, CH --- Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at 22:50 Swiss time

Hi!Cause you already know this site is great I won´t bother you with that.I just have a little question, and I would really appreciate if you would answered it to me.My Sun and Mercury are in conjuction(orbis2°),and as I´ve been studying astrology myself I´ve learned that my Mercury is a´combusto´planet cause receives endangering influence from Sun,so I wonder if there is a possibility to overcome this bad influence from Sun.I would have written to recomended astrologers but I don´t have money for complete natal-chart interpretation, and besides I don´t need it cause I´ve done it myself. I just need this information and I really hope you´ll help me.Thank you millions.

Mirela [ Mirela.I* ]
Split, Croatia --- Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at 21:41 Swiss time

Alois adds: The concept of a burnt Mercury is a very traditional view and I do not follow it, neither does Liz Greene put any value in this concept.

Your free charts are great!!! Thanks!

Like everyone else, I am more than enthousisatic about your free (!) program. that's a real gift of the gods! What do the abbreviations ANG, SUC, and CAD mean? And LEARN & SHARE (I can guess te implication, but from which symbols do you derive these implications?) Last, what are the degree variations (+/-) added to the right side of planetary positions? If you reply through the visitors' feedback rather than by e-mail, pls let me know when, as I rarely visit the VFeedback. thanks a lot, and happy continuation to you and your colleagues!

Dina Utomo [ * ]
Jakarta, Indonesia --- Monday, January 19, 1998 at 15:47 Swiss time

Alois adds: Have you looked at the reports we offer? I would recommend Liz Greene'e Psychological Horoscope analysis. You find more information about it and complete samples on our sample pages.

Thank you for allowing me to create my chart. However, many, such as myself do not know how to interpret a chart. I think it would be a lot nicer if, even if computer generated, you would at least give one free interpretation and/or preview of the at least immediate future. That is not to discount the value of not having to go through all the trouble of looking everything up in an ephermeris. Thank you anyway.

I am very impressed with your page's quality and rigor. I would like to know about your software and your opinion about other available astrology softwares for Win95/PC. I was born in Havana, Cuba, on Dec. 15, 1952, at 3:45 am. Please, surprise me with your analysis.

Moises Asis [ * ]
Miami, USA --- Sunday, January 18, 1998 at 04:56 Swiss time

Alois adds: On our website, we use the free software ASTROLOG by Walter Pullen for the free chart service. You can download it, if you follow the links on our LINKS pages.

For our inhouse services and reports we use our own software which is not for sale. The report software can be licensed from us for commercial distribution of Astro*Intelligence reports (see here).

For PC users, we sell an excellent software package SARASTRO but this is only in German (see Sarastro).

A lot of other astrological software contains some of our program code for planetary calculations. We license a DLL to programmers (see Swiss Ephemeris).

I cannot comment on other available software, as I do not know all of it. A good and inexpensive natal chart program with interpretation is 'World of Wisdom'. It is not a full scale astrology software, however.

And your last question about getting surprised with our analysis: You have to order the Psychological Horoscope Analysis to make this unique experience.

Hello! I just want to know if I have chosen the right guy. I am born the 13th of August at 4.18 o´clock in Gävle, 60N61 16W17. My boyfriend is born the 26th of September, I don´t know the time, also in Gävle, 60N61 16W17. Thank you!

Alois adds: I am afraid that you are totally wrong, or are you joking? Any calendar program on any computer, any newspaper archive will prove that June 15 1992 was a monday, at least on this planet.

1992 June 15 = monday
1993 June 15 = tuesday
1994 June 15 = wednesday
1995 June 15 = thursday

Hello again my friends! (My a call you so? Anybody doing what you are doing, can be nothing but a friend to anybody else!) I don't know if this question is interesting to others, but in Sweden the official time is changing about when Aries begins. The cklock is tunred one hour forward: When the right time is 6 at morning, the official time is 7. Is this "summertime" autmaticly calculated in the charts, or do I have to write the "sun time" in the space for time? Yours sincerely, Stefan Lehtila stefan.*

Stefan Lehtila [ * ]
Joenkoeping, Sweden --- Thursday, January 15, 1998 at 09:54 Swiss time

Alois adds: Everything is taken care of automatically. Just enter clock time as a normal clock shows.

You can easily check this for yourself, just observe the change of Universal time for the same Swedish time when you cross a date when daylight savings time was turned on or off. YOu will see the automatic shift of Universal time by one hour.

INRE:Gratitude for ASTROLOG/Astrolog on a MacPlus I want to thank you so VERY much for Astrolog. Being quite new to computers and the internet I am simply astounded at the generosity and kindness being offered through freeware and shareware. Many people with dark agendas want us to believe in a mean world theory of life, I have found quite the opposite on the net. Scores of people are shariong their brilliance and Spirit given talents with the masses. This, in my opinion, can only lead to a better world for all. It is apparent you are doing your best to bring light to the field of astrology by making as wide an availability as possible of you fantastic program. My entry level into the computer world for now is a MacPlus, Syhstem 6.0.8 with a 50 MB HD and 4K Ram update. While my graphics capability is extremely limited, I can now have a complete text of a birth chart in 45 seconds. The time and energy of the mechanics of chart preparation are now devoted to interpretation. Because of a highly developed intuitive sense, for years I have been using Grant Lewi's Heaven Know's What for quick, simple chart construction. Your program now offers me the best of both worlds- impeccable hard info combined with my insights. My approach is an eclectic one from Stephen Arroyo to Sun Bear's Medicine Wheel, earth astrology. My recent experience with a brilliant young Buddhist, Mathematician, Astrologer has led us to an understanding that astrology can lead one to an understanding of Part of Everything. If you or anyone out there reading this have any tips, clues or help in regards to running Astrolog.530 on a MacPlus, I would certainly appreciate your input at: * I'm using a little control panel accessory to find the Lat/Long of cities: MAP, System Software version 6.0.4, Version 1.2 from Apple, circ:1987-89. many years ago,i took some classes in astrology. placidian method. much fun making charts for all my family. recently i received c-d rom astrology. some of the charts that come up are so totally off in regard to ascendant. also, i was taught to add 12 hours for am births. when this is done some of these charts are compatible with the ones i did some are not. any ideas ? these new charts have very little, if anything,in common with the personalities of my family members. they agree.

PATTON [ * ]
indianapolis, usa --- Tuesday, January 13, 1998 at 01:11 Swiss time

Alois adds: Dear Patton, you seem to refer to a CDROM program you bought from someone, not to the charts created on our online server. I cannot comment on this CDROM which is unknown to me.

Like many others, you seem to be confused by hand-calculation rules from many years ago. Until the 1970ies, most published ephemerides where calculated for noon, not for midnight. To use these tables for chart setup one had to count the hours of the day from noon, not from midnight. This was and still is the source of many errors. From this use of very old noon tables stems the confusing rule to add 12 hours.

A computer program does not use ephemeris tables. It can compute the planetary positions for any instant of time, not just for noon or midnight. The only requirement is, that Universal Time (abbreviated UT or GMT) must be computed from the local time given in the birth registry. One must know the correct timezone of the place of birth and whether daylight savings time was used or not. This is the source of many errors, and our online database is the simplest way to avoid any such error: it knows the timezone and daylight savings times for every place on Earth, and for any date. The task is reduced to selecting the right place and entering the normal birth time. Then the chart will come out absolutely correct.

If your CDROM astrology program does not have a builtin database of timezones and places of comparable quality, there may be errors, because you must manually enter the correct time zone and you may not know all the obscure daylight savings time rules of the past. Some states had different daylight savings time observation varying from county to county (this is not a typing error, I really mean county, not country)!

I want to mention the important plausibilty check you should apply to every chart. A chart is a drawing of the celestial situation at the moment of birth. There is the horizontal axis Ascendant - Descendant, and there is the vertical meridian axis MC - DC. The Sun in the chart must come out at a place in the sky which is compatible with the time of day you were born. Just use your common sense. For a night birth, the Sun must be under the horizon, i.e. in houses 1 through 6. For a day birth it must be in houses 7 through 12. For a birth before noon, the Sun must be in the eastern hemisphere of the chart (the side of the Ascendant). If you apply this plausibilty check, you will easily find out when someone (you?) made an error of 12 hours, because the hemisphere where the Sun is will come out totally wrong.

Thanks so much for providing this information in such an easy to use format. I have always been interested in astrology and now that I have my own chart I am learning more about what all these things mean. We are so much more than our Sun signs! Besides the fact that I am very analytical (a curse sometimes!) and a worrier (ditto!!) I certainly don't feel that I am 100% Virgo. It's fascinating! I am curious about something though... Taurus appears in both my 3rd (2 degrees) and 4th (28 degrees) houses and Scorpio in my 9th (2 degrees) and 10th (28 degrees)... I thought that they lined up in order after the ascendant (mine is Aquarius). Could I have done something wrong? My b/d Sep 2, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia at 5:04 pm Thanks again for your wonderful site. I recommend it often!! Vicki

Alois adds: Vicky, I think you refer to the 'Equal house system' where houses are exactly 30 degrees in size, starting at the ascendant. We use mostly Placidus houses system, where houses are not of equal size. Sometimes a house is considerably larger than 30 degrees and a complete sign can be contained in it. The choice of house system is a matter of taste, like the choice of a color for clothing or for a car. There is no generally right or wrong system.

I`m here again! Thanks for a good website. Now to my question: Which chart will I trust in? I have one called equal houses and one standard chart (placidus house). It`s quite important to know which one I will put my interest in. Please mail me! Kiss kiss!

I am delighted with your site and have placed a link on my site for my students. Thanks for having this information available to all of us! It was also nice to find out that I share the same birthday with Liz Greene and Robert Hand. Great service you have provided.

We think that your website will help astrology to be recognised also as a serious science and that people get an understanding of the importance of having accurate birth data. It's still a long way to go to spread this message worldwide. Your site is part of this process. Astrology will be in the centre of of an exiting New Age. We all look forward to it. With respect and love from Ireland Yours Hans & Thomas (Institute for Astroenergetic Studies/IAS)

I am always impressed with the quality of charts I can generate from your website, as well as all of the house options ...I'm still trying to figure out which one to make a commitment to, though. One question: (NOT about rising sign; it's my part of fortune that comes out differently. I understand from reading Rob Hand's work that different formulae should be used for daytime vs. nighttime births. Is it possible that your program is using the same formula for both? Thanks again for a great site!

I have just finished updating our list of cities in BRAZIL (country abbreviation BRZ). We have received a list from Jorge Oliveira which allowed us to extend our data from 3000 to 5300 Brazilian cities.

We have added a new feature for Brazil: If several cities with the same name exist, the province is given out as well.

I want to thank Jorge for his contribution. I do it here because I cannot reach him by Email any longer.

I was wondering if anyone could help me? I have 3 questions...Is there a good astrology book available in the US about the asteroids, (Chiron, Juno, etc.) and their aspects and meanings in the signs and houses? My second question is: Is there a glyph for the part of fortune? I also get the glyphs for Pallus and Vest mixed up, is Pallus of Athena's the one that looks like a spear, and Vesta's looks like 3 V's, or vice versa? I just learned about asteroids in a chart and want to learn more, please email me! Thank you so much!

Especially liked reading feedback from other astro-curious souls & the option of astromaps.. If anyone reading this have experience& advice on how to "get to piece with" & optimum practical energy out of a MARS/NEPTUN SQUARE (in OO.41 Pisces/29.22 Scorpio)(is this an impossible task?) -I`d bee happy to share my own astroexperiences ! (having lived a life faced with constant challences from oppositons and squares, just eased by a handfull of trines and sextiles; by now I`m coming to find it increasingly interesting and, actually fun..except the before mentioned Mars/Neptun square-leaving me always in the middle of some damp fog, just as I thought I had found the direction..) By the way; Have a Uranian new year! Cathrine

Unless it is my error in sight, after I update the time zone info to check against daylight or standard etc etc as I see that the AFA text by Doris Doane is inaccurate. I can see that the data is correct but do not see in the text exactly what the time zone was at that time. I dont see where the listing is saying daylight or standard etc.. Can you help me here?? Is this in the text of the printout or elsewhere? Thank you... Marian

Alois adds: Timezone is not represented by text but graphically. The Univeral time is shown in the clock face inside the map, and the timezone is indicated in the yellow-white bubble inside the map. Please click on the map to get more explanation.

i don't care about my love life, or if i'm going to be filthy rich. however my gut tells me i am here for a very spectacular pupose. i need to know if it is so, and what that purpose might be. i have been told in the past that it has to do with my bloodline, i find no evidence to support this. i sure could use someones help. it may prove rewarding to us all in the not so distant future. my birthdate is march 5, 1966. i believe it was around 8:00 am. however i am not sure of the exact time.i was born in ponca city, oklahoma at the local hospital.i desperately need to know my true destiny. i am pleading with anybody that has the capability to discover my destiny to do so and e-mail me back expiditiously. a lost soul, KIRK A. Alois adds: While we offer free chart calculation on our website, we do not offer chart readings for free. Our reports are very valuable and recommended by leading experts. For detailed personal questions however I would recommend a consulation with a good local astrologer in your area.

Again, please make correction for the spelling of Kota Baharu. It should be Kota Bharu (in contrast to Johor Bahru). Thanx.

Alois adds: The rules for transcription into Latin have changed over the years and it is likely that our database contains outdated or incorrect transcriptions. The best advise for finding a birth place is: enter only the first few letters, not the whole city name. it is much more likely to be found despite differences in spelling.

Great site! The spelling for Johor Baharu should be Johor Bahru. I hope you correct this. Thanx.
