Michael  M c l.
Great Britain --- Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 20:24 Universal Time

I am desperate for some quality feedback since I do not know anyone of a professional nature. I am a Libran with my moon in the 5th house (Sagittarius). Years ago, a lady friend of mine
who studied astrology for years gave me some excellent feedback after completing my natal chart. Because her sun sign and moon sign, rising sign and midheaven sign were exactly the same as mine, she told me that whenever I speculated (gambled), do it whenever the moon was in Sagittarius and if I was going to win, that is when it would happen. I found her advice to be correct. Unfortunately, she passed away and I can no longer consult her. She also told me that I should be cautious whenever the moon was in Aries
(my opposite) because that time period might be unlucky for me. My progressed moon will be going into Aries sometime in
April and I know that it will be there for about two and one half years before it moves into the next sign. I also have Saturn in my
second house for two years or more. Does this mean that I have no hope of good fortune for a few years?

Hallo nochmal,

Danke

Sandra
D., Deutschland --- Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 12:01 Universal Time

The new format is great! The more detail, the better! Keep up the good work and thanks!

Alois adds: Whatever you like to see on your horoscope. The name is absolutely irrelevant for astrology.

I don't know if that was a preview I saw this morning or if I am dreaming all together but the newest 'Love' interpretation for certain aspects was absolutely amazing! I felt the descriptions were truly personal even though we all share them and the house interpretations for the Moons is excellent! Thank you so much for this site for without it I would not have been able to study!

[later: Wednesday at 10am the new feature was online again]

As a fan of Liz Greene, I'd love to see an article about the singer Nick Drake. In Dynamics of the Unconscious, she discusses his chart and the events that led to his suicide. I'd like to hear her take on why he is currently experiencing a degree of popularity that he never knew while he was alive. His life would have been very different had he been born thirty years later. See this article:

Love your site! Keep up the good work!

How is this supposed to be useful to me?

I bought a psychological horoscope analysis and a career vocation reports. The first one actually pretty well describes my true nature. However, I notice some programming errors. For example, in the relationship section it keeps referring to female partner. ( I am female) I was expecting the other way around. The career and vocation one doesn't really describe me well. I am very surprised that I have very few of the characters described. Might there be some programming errors? Can you recheck? thanks.

Khulan
California, USA --- Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 05:57 Universal Time

Alois adds: Dear Khulan, in the natal data entry form you marked the little extra field for 'sexual orientation' which shows . This had the effect that in the shopping cart appeared this note (as a small green text):
Any references to partners in the reading will be worded for a female partner, as this option is activated in the natal data. To change this, click on the 'Edit data' link above and uncheck the checkbox with the symbol .

We have introduced this feature a long time ago so that anyone who prefers same-sex relationships can get his/her horoscope worded accordingly.

I have now turned the marked field off in your natal data, and re-issued the reports for you. Please download them again. You will find them now referring to male partners, wherever appropriate.

PS: this feature is only needed for single-person reports, which also may often contain references to relationship issues. The two-person reports of course know the gender of both persons anyway, and no special indicator is needed.

The section 'Astro-click Travel' map is not working. The pop-up windows will only display the directions explaining how to use the map. This used to work before you added the directions. Now all that is displayed, regardless of where you click on the map, is the Help Directions. I was trying to get information regarding Central America. Hope you get this fixed soon!

Alois adds: Please, use the feature 'report a problem' at the bottom of the page where the problem is. That way, we can see what your browser and your operating system is, and possibly we can give advice (this extra info is transmitted automatically via the report form).

Every day we have several tens of thousands of users who use the 'Astroclick' feature.

So far, there have been about four users in the course of three months who reported a problem like yours. Apparently, some users have a browser configuration which does not work, but this seems to be very rare. We will be happy to look into it if we get the problem reports in the proper way which includes the technical information.

Q: I was born in May 16 1967 at 3:12pm in Dallas, Texas
and yet one location went to cross reference my chart with another company, stating my chart was wrong, Can you please share with me whereNeptune was when I was born?
Some one I trust manuelly developed it, thus displaying my chart with Neptune in the 1 st house for me practically sitting on the linein Virgo. Now with this different chart it show I have alot of opposition.Very confusing.
Plus, this year was very harsh for me toward the end of July, and would love to know when things will settle down!!!!

I was wondering if your astrologers have a way of predicting the most compatable chart birthdays with my chart. I have several charts now in MyAstro but alas, most of them are riddled with problems. I would love to know the most compatable birthdays based on my date of birth. Can it be done? Might be info worth having for future partnerships.

Nashville, TN, USA --- Monday, January 29, 2007 at 05:09 Universal Time

Alois adds: Reletionships are multi-dimensional, i.e. two people interact in a multitude of ways. This is far more complex than just saying 'well compatible' and 'not so well compatible'. Some people need friction and conflict to feel alive, others are horrified by it and want to merge into a symbiotic existance - though it may not be so good for them in the end. It is also Not all in the horoscope - whatever some astrologer might say.

Each relationship is an individual complex entity, whose 'character' cannot be reduced to a single number or single quality.

You need to get involved with someone for a relationship to become alive, to show its personality. You cannot swim on the dry land but only by immerging yourself in the water.

What we can offer you:
- try Free Horoscopes -> astrology for lovers. Even when this little feature is only sun sign based, it gives you an excellent view of what it means if two particular sun signs meet.
- you can try to understand yourtself, and the other person(s), via the free personality horoscopes.
- dig into the free reports 'Partnership' and 'Relationship', and use the feature 'Astroclick Partner' to study details. It will not tell you 'good' or 'bad', but you will find something about the amount and qualities of harmony and friction areas.
- we have some customers who actually order a full Relationship Horoscope for each new date they are having. One particular man has in the mean time ordered about fifty such reports and spent 2500 dollar on them. I would not do this, and I do not recommend it. But of course, marriages can turn into expensive mistakes, so why not invest a bit into an attempt of optimization.

I have to admit that n 2005 and 06 we worked for some time on a project for astrology-enhanced matching technique for online dating. We had excellent ideas, and the software for a prototype running. We did of course try to quantify the strength of interaction between two people, and run this through a huge database in reasonable time. We have combined the astrological analysis with psychological profiling and matching, and with factual matching - it is pointless to ignore expressed preferences and to look only at the charts. It might be the chart of a horse matched with a chicken which shows the greatest potential.

We have for the moment stopped this project, because we realized that we would not really want to move into this particular business of matching people. Too many hopes, too many failures, too many illusions. One has to be careful what one chooses as a field of work. Just because one can do it does not mean that one wants to do it, or that it is good for one's soul. So for the moment: not dating service at astro.com.

Hi,
I'm not a very visual person and I have trouble visually processing all the colored angle lines between planets. For this reason, I wanted to know if it's possible to get the angles between two persons' planets in a SYNASTRY chart printed in GRID form.

Many thanks for your great service and the wonderful work you all are doing.

Hi Alois and Astrodienst Team

I've just realised that I have been following your site now for over ten years!!!

That says something about your dedication to Astrology, and the quality of the information you provide. I particularly like the non-commercial nature of the site, its professional reports, and the thoughtful commentaries.

I am also grateful that you rekindled my interest in Astrology. I even spent some time doing some formal Astrological studies, but my day job makes Astrological practice inapproariate.

Keep up the good work, and I hope to write a similar letter in another 10 years!

We enjoy that we can run a website like ours. We are very grateful to be in a position like this, where we can serve a large community with features and services which go far beyond simply commercial interest.

I have not the least doubt that we will be around ten years from now, to serve the world with serious and honest astrology. I look forward to hear from you in 2017!

I have purchased a psycological and a carrer and vocation horoscope by Liz Greene.
I have read her books and expected her horoscopes to be something special.
To my surprice I could not recognize myself in them. I checked several times while reading the carrer and vocation horoscope to se if my birthdata where right, because I couldnt believe that this was written about me. Some of the things allmost made me laugh because they were so far from the truth.
I would say that the psycological horoscope was better. Althogh a lot of it did not sound like me, there were at least somethings that described me well.
But I would still get a more accurate description by reading a book about the meaning of the aspects in my horoscope, and I would have expected the Liz Greene horoscopes to be better than that.

I have one suggestion. I love your interactive travel page. It is very informative. However I wonder if a field for latitude longitude could be added instead of the hit miss of the small map.

Grazie mille Astrodienst.

Many many many thanks for adding the Krusinski houses.:) :) :) On Circular Charts groups works well. But hen I choose it in Astrolog /Pullen I get null houses on chart . :(
------------------------------------------------------

As far as Aspects to IC i Desc are concerned, it would be useful to have them in Extended Options as they allow a quick recognition of aspects figures ( grand trine, yod etc) to these points. It is not that immediate to see it just basing on the asc desc aspects and some astrologist consider them as very dynamic points. Why Asc Mc aspects could be displayed as a lines and ic desc should be guessed if in the end they are of the equivalent importance? :(
Many Thanks again for the very fast response

I recently ordered Liz Greens Relationship Horoscope and I want to tell you....it was definitely right on. You may infer what is said in different ways but, you definitely get the big picture. It may not be what you want to hear or read either, but, it gave me great insight and it was on target. I am able to use the information to help me through difficulties and I get a perspective on what is really going on in a relationship. I loved it. I can read it over and over again and get more out of it each time. I think everyone should order one of these if everything seems great or not. It truly helped me.

1. Why astro.com online charts don't show aspects lines to IC i Desc ( only to MC i Asc - extended). It would be great to see them inside the circle.
---------------------------------------
--------------------------------

2.I am a user in despair. All of my friends are using Krusinski House System ( Urania) and I have only computer access at work and cannot download there anything so my only solution is www.astro.com But www.astro.com doesn't have Krusinski House system available in the Extended Options.

House system according to Bogdan Krusinski (character 'U').
For more info, see the documentation swisseph.doc, chapter 6.1.13.

Ren
London, Great Britain --- Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 14:27 Universal Time

Alois adds: About your despair: I have added Krusinski to the selection of available house systems. Please verify that it is correct.

About your problem 1: Aspects to the Descendant are always the 180-degree-complimentary angles of those to the Ascendant. It is not necessary to indicate them. The same applies for the MC and (northern) Lunar node. The aspects to the southern node are complimentary. If you have a trine to one, you have a sextile to the other. A square is always to both. The complimentary of a quincunx (150°) is the semisextile (30°).

Guten Tag,

I've been thinking about moving back to my boyfriend. We were dating for a long time and then I abruptly left and moved away now I'm thinking about moving back.
But his long-term forecast mentions Uranus conjunction descendant, and it talks about potential breakups or domestic disputes. I am seriously thinking about moving back to the town he lives in. But I guess this means that it would be wise not to live with him, however much I may want to? I know astrology isn't always supposed to be taken literally, or at face value, but it's hard to ignore this warning. Please advise! Alois adds: Please do not make an important decision like moving to another part of the country dependent on the wording of particular transit description in an astrological report, and even less when this report if composed for another person and not for you yourself.

There are many more factors to consider for your decisions than whether your ex-boyfriend is going to have a Uranus transit.

I recommend that you focus on your own chart, your own personality and your own perspectives. Try to be less concerend about him. You have already lost if you consider him more than yourself.

After reading prior feedback and responses, I hesitate to ask about the astrodienst world map that I received in the mail a few days ago. Still, I have not received an answer to my email...so, here goes.

On the free online version aspects accompanied the paired lines, but on the hard copy there are no aspect symbols. I'm wondering if the relevance of the pairings can be interpreted without the aspects?

In addition, I found no key that would indicate which lines were natal and which were transits. Once again, is there a way to read this without knowing which is which?

Respectfully,
Sandra

Camas, WA, USA --- Monday, January 15, 2007 at 04:45 Universal Time

Alois adds: Dear Sandra, you ordered a 'Dynamic Astro World Map' which is with Natal (solid lines), Transits and Progressions (dotted lines). On the top, you see a labeling which says: Jupiter - Pluto, Chiron, Lunar Node = Transits, Sun - Mars = Progressions.

This means that out of the dotted lines, those for the faster plants are progressions, those of the slower ones are transits.

The solid lines are exactly the same ones as in the normal natal Astro Worldmap, the dotted lines appear in addition, and only in the Dynamic Map. This is why we consider it mostly self-explaining.

All lines in this map are conjunctions, to either Ascendant, MC, Descendant or IC.

This is how Jim Lewis, who made this technique popular, did the charts. The aspect lines added by other computing services (includings ours) are an add on, which many find confusing and irrelevant. The aspect lines were added for the non-worldmap sections: in a smaller area, there is often no concuntion line crossing a particular country or state. The aspects have been added to increase the number of lines, so users would not be frustrated to have find only a few lines. That does not really make the aspect lines relevant. What one really wants is the rising, setting and culmination lines of the planets, and this is what you get in the world map. A world map with aspect lines is really confusing - there are far too many.

I have not been aware of receiving an email with your questions. But there are thousands of emails a day, and many are filtered out as spam or risky - this automatic filtering process is not always perfect. I am sorry if your email got lost or did not find my attention. The best way is always to write to order@astro.com with question regarding a past order. These mails get printed out in our office and they will land at somebody's desk in the end, not get stuck in a crowded in-folder.

Of course, chart graphics like the one you ordered are only offered without interpretation, and in the assumption that the person who orders them knows how to read them. Like all chart graphics, also the Dynamic Worldmap is available online for free, in this case under Extended chart selection, group 'special charts'. This allows you to have a look at what you are going to receive, before you order a hardcopy.

For most purposes, printing out the free version is absolutely sufficient. The hardcopy version only has larger paper size and higher printing resolution, but no different content. There are really few reasons to order hardcopy chart printouts, given the free offers on our website.

It is the second time I purchase the Extended Horoscope, and I am frustrated. I just passed a very challenging time in my personal life, and I requested the horoscope, with the naive hope of finding something positive for my future. When I read it, I just wanted to jump off a bridge, it gives a negative perspective for the future. I know that at the end is up to me, but I expected to find something useful in it.

The longterm horoscope you sent me was a great disappointment. I was quite surprised that it did not provide a coherant picture of future possibilities. It was just a collection of individual planetary influences or specific periods of time without a synthesis of these parts into a clear picture. A life is a blending of planetary forces at every moment. It is not a collection of disconnected parts. It was very dissappointing and quite frankly a waste of my resources. I have never been this dissappointed in a reading before. Best of luck. Chris Armstrong

Let me be more specific. I see from your last comment that the true node refers to the oscillating lunar node, and is different from the mean node only in terms of measurement. I guess my question is, what is the meaning of true node in a person's birth chart? For instance, the true node in my chart is listed as Sagitarius, and it is the only thing in my chart that falls under Sagitarius. What is the significance of Sagitarius in my chart? Was the moon actually in Sagitarius at that time???

What is the True Node? I've searched astrodienst site as well as other places, have found nothing. Thanks?

On my chart from this website, my north node is approx 20 minutes or so different from a chart I received off another website. This is my favorite website but I don't understand the difference in the nodal position. All the positions of the planets are the same in both charts. I ask because today, or tomorrow, transiting Uranus will be sitting flatly on my north node - the exact day dependent on which chart I go by. And if anyone has any feedback or experience with transiting Uranus conjunct natal north node, please advise!! thanks and thanks to astrodienst for being here!

Alois adds: The lunar nodes can be computed in two different ways, depending on whether short term disturbations of the Moons orbit are taken into account or whether they are averaged out.

The older tradition is to use the average orbit, which gives the 'Mean Node'.

Since the introduction of computers into astrological calculation in the 1970ies, some modern astrologers have started to use the jittering actual Moon orbit, which results in the 'osculating' node', also misnamed as 'true node'.

On our website you can have both. In Extended chart selection you can choose which one you prefer, in the other areas we follow the preferences of the respective astrologer.

In the planetary listings, it says either 'True Node' or 'Mean Node' and the glyph for the former has a tiny T inserted in the middle.

I purchased the psycological horoscope by Liz Greene and I must say I am a bit dissapointed with it. It described my relations to my parents very well, but a lot of the descriptions of my personality I dont really recognice.

Alois adds: I am sorry if you are disappointed with your Psychological Horoscopes.

You only received the report one hour before you wrote your feedback. Sometimes it takes a bit longer to digest the content and to let it sink in. I would recommend that you read it once more, after waiting a few days.

If your opinion persists, you may of course still be right. I cannot deny that it happens sometimes that our model of interpreation goes astray, despite all the efforts we have put into its development. In our experience, about 95% of the report can be called 'excellent', and the remaining 5% are between 'good', 'good enough' and 'missed it'. I will make a proposal for a replacement by private email.

To Linda Postema:

The ephemeris indicate the position of the moon for 00:00 hrs Universal Time (longitude 0). The moon placement in your natal chart is ultimately extrapolated on the basis of your birth time. So unless you were born at 00:00 hrs Universal Time (also referred to as Greenwich Mean Time - GMT) somewhere along the 0 longitude, the position of your moon will invariably differ from that specified in the ephemeris for that day.

Thanks for making it available, Alois. It was interesting. I understand asteroids get a much smaller allowence for orb of influence between them and other celestial bodies, than regular planets do. Is that correct?

Greetings, in the asteroid list, at the extended horoscope selection page, could you make Apophis(asteroid number 99942) available? I tried to include it in a horoscope, but came up with an asteroid not available in the chart. The reason is I want to chart this asteroid is that I came across an article at msn.com about it possibly hitting the Earth, on April 13, 2029. Scientists are 99.7% sure that it'll pass at a distance of 18,800 - 20,800 miles though. I am not sure why they say that it may hit the Earth, if this is the case, but I suppose it'll, at least, be a close call. I found the article at this link
http://men.msn.com/articlepm.aspx?cp-documentid=1628365GT1=8991 Cutting and pasting the link may be necessary.

Alois adds: It is available, just enter its number. The dates when its Orbits is knows must be between 2 May 1884 and 24 Nov 2028. The next encounter is so close that its orbit afterwards cannot be computed precisely enough. It is not expected to hit the Earth, though. Also in 1984 there was a close encounter, and we don't know the precise orbit before that time.

fab site. much appreciated. i just read thru my liz green rel chart and was most pleased however it was noted at the end that only the 2 natal and the composite chart's were used in the interpretation. i'm a bit peeved as else where on the site it was mentioned that the davison method would also be integrated. this was part of my reason for purchase as i am australian born and my lover english (living in eire). seemed to make more sence to use such a method or at best have it considered. was well impressed with interpretation but feel maybe something is missing now......

I love your website and have been a fan for years. But i can't understand why Robert Hand's free Forecast report air on the down side- Beware of this, be careful of that. Even when there is what one would interpret as a positive aspect like a trine, there always seems to be this overbearing cautionary note. I do believe astrology is a helpful tool, but not the whole story. Our thoughts and the way we react to things has alot to do with how we experience life. I've read other astrolger's interpretations of the same transit and no one is as morose as he is. So why all the negative talk frm Mr. Hand? It almost feels like his interpretations are way out of date from the language he uses. Is it possible for him to update his style? Other than his portion, I love your site.

Hello,

I have a question about the ephemeris. If I look in the ephemeris for 14 July 1972 I see that moon was in 2.2 Virgo at that day, but in my horoscope which I can create at www.astro.com my natal moon is in 13.36 Virgo.

How is that possible ?

To Liz Greene - I've been one of your fans for years. I think you are one of the top world astrologers. I was interested in your Relationship free trail edition report, but frustrated by the dangle marketing approach. It is a turn off, for me. I recommend that you use Robert's approach and give a short, but complete report. Your style is very distinct and articulate, IMO there is no way that these two similar reports can be seen as redundant. I tell people that this is the world's best astrology website, and I help them to get registered. Thank you for helping people to better understand astrology.

Susan  J a m e s

Alois adds: Dear Susan, thank you for your feedback.

Neither Robert Hand nor Liz Greene are directly involved in running astro.com - they are report authors and friends, but have nothing to do with the decisions about our free services or our marketing. I and the marketing members of our team are the persons you need to address.

There are huge differences in the complexity of Liz Greene's Relationship Horoscope versus the 'cookbook style' of the 'Astrotext Partner' report. Please read the complete samples for both of them.

We give away the readings of the simpler 'Astrotext' line rather freely, out of generosity and to make our website more attractive. This allows access to basic astrological interpretations to a large audience. If you use the AstroClick services, you can receive a nearly complete reading for free, based on this material.

In contrast, the reports by Liz Greene (product line Astro Intelligence) are highly integrated and not 'cook book' style. These reports were never intended to be given away for free, and we offer only a small glimpse into some of them. Of course, you can always read full example reports, to get an impression of the whole report. But not for your personal birth data.

I am really sorry if some of our decisions 'turn you off'. I hope you still find free services on our site which turn you on. We believe that we do the right thing. Please be aware that only the revenue from our report and subscription sales allows us to run and expand this website, which offers a lot to those who cannot afford to pay.

Dear Alois -

“The negative feelings create often a much greater urge to be expressed than the positive ones” Is this like squares and oppositions being more urgent than trines and sextiles?

Your message reinforces one from the Buddha sent me this morning by a friend that I would like to forward to Mr. Meyer.

We are what we think.
All that we are
Arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with an impure mind and trouble will follow you
As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart.
Speak or act with an pure mind and happiness will follow you
As your shadow, unshakable.

“Look how he abused me and beat me,
How he threw me down and robbed me.”
Live with such thoughts and you live in hate.

“Look how he abused me and beat me,
How he threw me down and robbed me.”
Abandon such thoughts, and live in love.

In this world hate never yet dispelled hate.
Only love dispels hate.
This is the law, ancient and inexhaustible.

You too shall pass away.
Knowing this, how can you quarrel?

If a man’s thoughts are muddy,
If he is reckless and full of deceit,
How can he wear the yellow robe?

Whoever is master of his own nature,
Bright, clear and true,
He may indeed wear the yellow robe.

Not completely tongue-in-cheek.

Looking at the chart for the formation of Astrodienst, I can’t figure out why there are so many unfounded complaints from occasional users. Granted Mr. Meyer went off on you without due consideration of his facts or his tone but this seems like a recurring phenomenon. Is it Mars in the 7th house of the Other square that beautiful Jupiter-Uranus conjunction at the MC where you appear before the world, further aggravated by Mars in 7th square the rulers of the 1st and 11th houses? Or is it that loose canon of the unaspected Moon in the 7th?

Kent  T o l l e y
Long Beach, CA, USA --- Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 21:07 Universal Time

Alois adds: I am less concerned than you, Kent. I think most of this is just the way people are. Remember, there are over 150'000 visitors a day on this website. And there is a lot of positive feedback.

Have you ever compared how many people talk about the good weather versus how many complain about weather? Or how many mention their good health, versus talk about health problems? Or about the faithfulness of their partners, versus their betrayals? The negative feelings create often a much greater urge to be expressed than the positive ones, I suppose. And I admit, I am not different, having a strong Saturn in my chart. Luckily, this means I can take on a lot, even when I sometimes also let off steam in my reactions.

I would like to know if there has been any study done showing astrology and bio-rhythms in relationship to one another...Thank you

I presently have Pluto trine to natal Jupiter. Your forecasts does not show this. Why don't you fix your programming or do you care? I want to know how you factor in Wartime Timeon all the people's charts who were born during WWII. If this is not done then thousands of charts you put out to people are one hour wrong. Are you afraid to admit to this? Are you ready to issue refunds or do you want to let it slide so nobody will notice.

Kent  M e y e r
Mt Judea, USA --- Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 05:07 Universal Time

Alois adds: The timezone used is shown immediately at data entry. If you did not look at data entry, you can look it up later by clicking the 'edit' link besides each natal data item on the page 'my astro'. In your case, it says there: 21 December 1941, 12:19 pm, Wichita, KS, Time Zone: 5 h west, War Time

What do you think is wrong here?

In your other friendly comment, you seem to be referring to the free 'Short report forecast' where you complain about lacking a reading for Pluto trine Jupiter. Are you sure that you read the introduction to that free report? It says

In the short edition, only a few, but nevertheless important transits over your natal chart are considered. It is likely however that some important transits of this six month period have been omitted in this abbreviated report

If you would like a report which contains a larger set of transits, you might want to order a report in our Astro Shop. Please make sure to read the full sample reports, before doing so, and especially the introductions and the appendices of each, which may contain important notes regarding the selection of transits. Someone experienced in astrology might prefer to buy Robert Hand's book 'Planets in Transit' and look up the readings himself. Our free 'Transit calendar' in Extended chart selection, group special, comes in very handy for this, as it lists precise timings of all transits for any period one might wish. Contrary to a quality report like 'Transits of the Year' or 'Yearly Horoscope Analysis' this procedure will not tell you what is the most important, but it will give you complete results.

Regarding the refund you are asking for: We made no error in our work, and also, you never ordered anything from us or paid a penny for using this website. So what exactly do you ask to be refunded for, Mr Meyer?

I wish you a really happy New Year. Just go on on your enlightened path of personal balance and positive thinking. You have a pleasant natal chart. I wonder what makes you so angry today.

Hi Anne - I know I'm not who you'd like a response from, but I'll just mention that I personally found your question about the persona charts very interesting, so interesting that I looked up my own persona charts, to see if any of the dates matched the birth dates of anyone in my family. Not a one! This being the case, I think probably it was just coincidence that you had the matches with family members' dates that you did. I definitely would not worry about the Saturn chart date being the date of your death.

As for when the e-mails here get answered, I think they're only answered by Alois or other Astrodienst staff if the answers cannot be found in FAQ or in the Astrodictionary, or elsewhere on the site. I'll grant you, your particular questions are not answered elsewhere on the site, as far as I could see but I did learn an awful lot about persona charts when I went looking on the site. I must admit, I had no idea there was the wealth of information on this site that there is, and I'm a daily visitor. Alois probably feels that the answer to your questions is on the site, if you just look.

Hope this helps.

What criteria do you use in deciding which of these feedback messages to reply to and when should we give up expecting a reply? There are only replies to a very limited number of messages and I'm sure everyone would like to hear the answer to this.

Anne
Wellington, New Zealand --- Friday, January 5, 2007 at 18:08 Universal Time

Alois adds: Anne, the Feedback area is a channel by which you and other users of the website, or customers buying our services can give public feedback on the website and our services.

The feedback area is not a channel to get all astrological questions answered, or to get personal advice and instruction, e.g. about your chart or about techniques of astrology. We really lack the time and person-power for that.

Legitimate questions get asked here, and if we find the time and find the questions interesting, we try to answer them, sometimes after internal discussions, mostly in my own spare time. Many questions are of course answered in the FAQ section. Few can be are answered here. There are no special criteria. The highest priority get feedback entries which claim that we compute false astrological data - we tend not to do that and take this obligation rather serious.

Persona charts are a very special technique employed by only few astrologers, virtually unknown outside a narrow circle of German astrology students. We offer them, because many years ago, we were interested in them. But we cannot answer questions about them, we lack in fact the experience. Consider them an open field for your own research.

In place of this limited feedback area, we are going to set up a discussion board in the course of the next few months. Hopefully many fruitful discussions will take place there. This will become a place to exchange astrological experience, ideas and results. We look forward to it and work hard on it, as well as on many other aspects which will continue to improve this website.

Dear Astro Team,
I'm still confused. After I found out last year, that I'm always one day ahead of your daily horoscope (meaning that what is mentioned under tomorrow applies for today), I now found out that the long-term prognosis might be shifted by one year. I'm ahead of your forecast one year. Do you have any idea what is the cause for that deviation?
Thanks a lot for feedback! Kikoku

The well respected public timzone database 'tzdata' seems to agree on this. Mainland China (Peoples Republic of China), however, has used summer time only between 1986 and 1991, not before and not after. But there have been several other changes to the timezone they used over the years in various parts of the country. We believe to have this information represented correctly in our database.

If you liked Liz’ Psychological horoscope consider the Child’s horoscope as well. It’s not just for children. I found great solace and illumination reading Liz’ analysis while remembering myself as a child again. It had been a long time since I thought about the formative influences of those years. My opinion: Liz has a remarkable empathy and love for the child which still exists in you psychologically and her ability to cherish that child and understand his or her sense of wonder, magic and vulnerability connected me to a part of myself I had almost forgotten.

Dear Astrodienst,
I've enjoyed your site for a good few years now, allowed myself the luxury of the extended daily horoscope, and this evening, on some strange whim, finally decided to splurge and receive the Psychological Horoscope. I knew that at worst it would be accurate, though perhaps vague. In any case, I would gain some insight, which is always a good thing.

I am, however, impressed and genuinely amazed by everything in the report. Thorough and incisive, the analysis paints my portrait without discrepancy. You fine astrologers--artists--have captured the dirt under my fingernails and the reflections in my eyes. The portrait is simply that complete.

And more, the horoscope illuminates and clarifies my inner conflicts, how I function under their influence, and what I can do in order to achieve a greater balance in being. The goal, after all, is not insight, but rather we seek insight to aid in our evolution in this lifetime. I am grateful that you've offered that invaluable guidance in a matter of pages only.

Thank you so much. I've learned a lot tonight.

Hello Gwyddion,

Thank you for your posts responding to mine and another writer's comment re: Robert Hand's work. I found them to be interesting and well thought out and I appreciate the time you took to write. I totally agree and understand your metahpors around wholeness and all the parts needing to be seen or advised. I too would not want to be aware of only trines, sextiles etc. I enjoy seeing the squares and the oppositions for they contribute to our view of contrast...and from contrast, a desire is created and our world expands.

My point was not 'let's use 'positive' language in the readings', but rather, let's use the most positive 'feelings' or 'essences' of each reading.

So, even as Saturn sits on my Sun, and I 'feel' the limitations around me, I do my best to work within the parameters of this configuration whilst knowing that all is well and that the structures I am building are all good for me and my well being. I do not concern myself with the forecast of rain or sleet for I only attract what I create in and amongst the planetary weather. And if I only look towards the best of all and every situation, I will continue to have the best possible experiences, for That is what is expected.

I've been an astrologer for a long time and I have used astrology as a guide and a tool since I was a kid...I am now discovering new ways to enhance this knowledge with new-found knowledge about the laws of the universe and how it/we is again proven to be 'all connected'.

All paths lead to inner peace/God/nature/spirit...
I think the fun is in finding as many ways as possible...and for me, it needs to joyful and celebratory. And I'm sensing, as I listen to the world, that more and more individuals are searching and asking...so why not answer with the most potential in mind?

It is hard to convey my multi-faceted views on the whole postive / negative theme without getting into a whole other dimension of discussion, so I will end my post and thank you again for yours.

Happy New Year to all,
Sylvia

I guess there's some mistake in the coordinates of the place Obdam (Netherlands).

In your system it has as coordinates 4e41, 52n41. According to Google Earth it should have these coordinates: 4e54'30, 52n40'30, which is a difference of 0°13'30 (east of greenwich). On the map this is more than 20 kilometres, I think.

Wikipedia gives 52n40' and 4e54 as Obdam coordinates on this (Dutch) webpage: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obdam

Because Amsterdam (south of Obdam) has also exactly 4e54', and on the map Amsterdam is found right south under Obdam, I guess 4e41 will be a mistake.

And, may I ask, what's your opinion on google Earth coordinates, as we seem to be able to very easy look up coordinates of very small villages, and special places in big cities, such as hospitals?

In the article _Astronomical Foundations of the Astrological Houses_ on this site there is an incorrect definition of the Regiomontanus system of House Division. The author writes in part:

... For this purpose, Regiomontaus connected the division points of the twelve sections on the celestial equator with the celestial North and South poles (which are just an elongation of the Earth's North and South poles). In this manner, he created twelve additional great circles, which all originate in the celestial North and South poles and intersect the celestial equator. (This is illustrated by the image of an orange with its slices).
Finally, these twelve lines intersect the ecliptic at some point - and these intersection points make up the house cusps of the horoscope according to Regiomontanus.

The above passage should have read approximately as follows:

For this purpose, Regiomontaus connected the division points of the twelve sections on the celestial equator with the North and South points of the celestial horizon (which is a great circle parallel to the apparent local horizon). In this manner, he created twelve additional great circle arcs, which all originate in the North and South points of the celestial horizon and intersect the celestial equator. ...
Finally, each of these twelve arcs intersects the ecliptic at some point - and these twelve ecliptic points make up the house cusps of the horoscope according to Regiomontanus.

The procedure the author actually describes in his article would give the cusps of what are called the Meridian Houses (equal house division from the Midheaven in terms of Right Ascension).

Alois adds: Please talk to Christian Weidner, the author of the article, I think his website is given with it. You seem to be right. The author is not connected with Astrodienst.

The important thing is that we COMPUTE the Regiomontanus house cusps correctly. The source code telling you how and what we compute is published in the Swiss Ephemeris section.

In the Swiss Ephemeris documentation we write (in agreement with you):
6.1.3. Regiomontanus
Named after the Johannes Müller (called "Regiomontanus", because he stemmed from Königsberg) (1436-1476).
The equator is divided into 12 equal parts and great circles are drawn through these divisions and the north and south points on the horizon. The intersection points of these circles with the ecliptic are the house cusps.
