I love this site!
Your daily interpretations of the transits are more intelligent and acurate
than any other astrology site.
Is there a way I can get a relocation chart interpretation? I did the chart
but would like one of your professionals to interpret it for me. I noticed
you don't offer one in the astro shop.
I fell in love with a particular place and plan to move there but would like
a chart done as part of my preparation research.
Thank you for this site!

Astrodienst was also born under one of the great generational markers, the
Saturn-Pluto conjunction of 1982-1983, and this emphasises the need for
delving into the depths - not only as a means of fulfilling the company’s

Alois adds: Astrodienst operates out of Switzerland, and all our cost
occur in Swiss Francs.
Exchange rates tend to fluctuate, and we get sometimes less, sometimes more
Swiss Francs for the Euro and US-Dollars we earn from our sales.
But the people living in Euro countries or USD countries do not have a higher
or lower income, just because the external value of their currencies vary.
This is why we try to keep the end user prices stable over a span of years,
and carry the currency exchange rate risk on our end.
In the years 2000 - 2002, the dollar was higher than the Euro; you
got typically 1.15 Euro for one USD. Since 2003, the dollar has dropped
(primarily caused by the US foreign deficit and the development of oil
prices, caused by US politics). So, since 2003, you get less than 1 Euro
per USD, typically 0.85 EUR.
Still, people in the US do not make more money now, and if we
would increase their price by 30%, as we should, we would have difficulty
selling any horoscopes to the US and other places which are economically linked to the
dollar sphere.
Luckily, while the dollar dropped, the Euro has gone up a bit against
the Swiss Franc. We used to get 1.45 Swiss Francs per Euro in 2002, but
now we get about 1.56 Swiss Francs per Euro.
Therefore, our total balance does not look as bad as it would if we earned
only dollars. We still can afford to keep the prices stable. Europeans pay
the same amount to us since 2000, and US customers pay the same amount
to us since the year 2000. I think this is what counts for our customers:
stable prices.
If you are a European and move to the US, you can order from us at USD
prices. If you think this is worth it, feel free to emigrate. There are also
other things in the US which are cheaper than in Europe, e.g. hamburgers.
Hello,

me.Last month i went to a professional astrologer to study a composite
chart.I studied it here in astro.com so i know what it is like. The astrologer
calculated differently from you so our composite ascendant became different
and it affected all the house placements etc.I am confused.my birth

Alois adds: Your question is answered in the FAQ.
The Ascendant in a composite chart can be computed in different ways,
depending on the technique the astrologer uses.
One cannot look at the Ascendant in an isolated way without considering the
position of the MC. We calculate the MC first and go from there. Sometimes a
raw calculation of the Ascendant results in an impossible sequence of houses.
Your's is such a case. The Ascendant is swapped from Sagittarius to Gemini, to
bring it to the correct side of the chart, given the Pisces MC.
S H from Boston -
What you describe is precisely what you would expect when a planet being
transited in your natal chart is slightly ahead in the zodiac from the same
planet in your friends nativity. Your friend receives the transit today and
you receive it tomorrow when the transiting body advances by some relatively
small amount (assuming no retrograde motion).

Alois adds: Your question is answered in the FAQ, How can two people born at
different times have exactly the same daily horoscope?
Hello,
Last week I received my Transits of the Year report. I'm pleased with the
format and the the information is great. However, there is one problem. The
report is for one year, June 2006 through May 2007, but the report stops at
January 2007. No transits of slow moving planets are given past the start
date of January 2007 with the exception of one, Pluto trine Pluto starting in
April 2007. Yes, I do realize that this could be accurate. But the same
problem happens with swift moving planets. No transits at all past January
2007. That's four months missing....
I am dissappointed about the length of this report. It was described as
Transits of the Year but that is not what it really is. Could it be possible
that this was a mistake by an employee? I would like to get the remaining
portion because it really is a great report. Besides that, I paid for it.
Please let me know what can be done about this.
Thanks,
Kelli Naughton

Alois adds: Many of the transits discussed in your report have a duration
which covers the first five months of 2007. That only one new transit happens
in this period is a fact, and nothing unusual. We cannot invent them, but
are limited in the choice to what happens on the sky.
If you want a complete overview of ALL transits in that period, please
see here: Extended chart selection -> group Astrodienst special -> Transit
calendar for six months, all planets
Please be aware the the report 'Transits of the year' consists of a focused
selection of transits, and does not always discuss all transits which are happening. This
is described in the appendix of the report, also accessible in the 'samples'
section on the website.
I'm writing to complain about a glitch in your system. When I signed up for
free daily horoscopes 3 years ago, I was disappointed that Astrodienst would
not calculate daily horoscopes for my three-year-old. Your policy at that
time was I had to wait until he was 5. I waited patiently for 2 years and
when then on June 26, 2005, when I tried then to get his chart, your policy
had now changed and a person had to be six years old. So I waited another
year. Today is his birthday. I just tried again, and now I get the
following message on my screen -- For those born June 26, 2000, only dates
between 2006 and 2120 (6 to 120 years old) are allowed. The chosen date 26
June 2006 is beyond this range. No daily horoscope can be given. -- You can
imagine, I was very very disappointed. So I played around a bit and
discovered that if I changed his birthdate to June 24, I could get a daily
chart for today, but not for yesterday. So your system has a 2-day lag.
Given your usual birthday message, I realize you will probably just say Sun
conjunct Sun which isn't all that profound, but it's the principle of the
thing. I was hoping to print out his birthday chart and keep it, and that
won't be possible now, because of the delay in your system.

So it appears from typing in a few neighbouring suburbs - as that is what
they look like now on the google map, that all the area surrounding St. Louis
was on a different zone that St. Louis. That they were one hour behind. (Is
that right?) which would have been the Daylight savings, St. Lous or
Clayton?
That would have been very strange for people going to work, making
appointments etc.. just 5 minutes away in St. Louis.
There are other software programs that do not have this discrepency ironed
out. It would appear Solar Fire does not.
What software program could you recommend that encommpasses all these
details?
My friend had a 'Leo' rising for 42 years until Astro said it was Virgo. So
you can see the confusion for him.

Alois adds: I am afraid is is pointless to argue about historical facts. At a time, when counties
(not countries!) could decide about daylight saving time, such absurd
time borders were common in many US states. This is why the Uniform Timezone
Act was created in 1966 on the federal level. People were fed up.
It is a fact that 'St Louis City' was on a different timezone in 1960
than St Louis county (surrounding the city). The city had DST from April 24 to
Oct 30 1960. The county did not, it started DST only in 1963. Clayton
belongs to 'St Louis county' but not to 'St Louis City county'.
I would be very surprised if Solar Fire, with ACS atlas installed, would
give you different information.
About your friend's ascendant I am sorry - it happens all the time that
incorrect charts are out there and people have lived with them for a long
time. They love to challenge the messenger who brings the bad news.
Here the good news: You do not have to believe the authorities. You (or any
other reader of this column) can do your own research.
There must have been a local St Louis newspaper in 1960, which carried
around the days of April 24 and October 30 an article regarding the begin and
end of Daylight Saving Time this year. If the paper was of any worth, it
will also have mentioned the discrepancies between the various counties.
For this kind of research, the Internet is useless. You must be free of
paper and dust allergy and dig into the actual newspaper archives, where they keep all the yellowish old copies, either at the publisher of the
paper (if this company still exists) or in a St Louis city or Missouri state library.
You have St. Louis as on a different time zone than Clayton Missouri on June
6 1960.
They are only a mile or so apart...so we are wondering ....as Missouri was on
or off daylight savings as a whole state - why the discrepancy?
10.51am Clayon Missouri 6 june 1960.
Please let me know whether this person has a Virgo rising or a Leo.
And what information you have as to Missouri and daylight savings.
thanks

Alois adds: The state of Missouri had, like many US states before the Uniform
Timezone Act of 1966 which coordinated daylight saving time in the USA, a very
complex timezone history.
In states like MO, the counties could determine whether they would adope
daylight saving time or not, and often changed decisions from year to year.
The result was a real mess in the 1950ies and 1960ies.
In our database, we have 50 (fifty) different areas in Missouri which
differ in their timezone history. There is no such thing as a uniform
timezone history for all of the state.
You really should rely on this database. It is certainly correct.

Regarding Miss New Jersey and her stated difficulty with relationships: BRBR
You appear to be a powerful and gifted THINKING type (Sun-Moon exact
conjunction in Libra, Uranus, Pluto in Libra, Saturn culminating in Gemini,
and Mars in Aquarius). That's a major emphasis in Air. For independent
verification take the Meyers-Briggs test and try to determine which of the 16
Jungian types you are. For Thinking types, FEELING is the inferior
function. You might say you don’t have conscious access to your feelings.
This does not make your feelings weak, just unconscious and relatively
primitive. The Feeling function is troublesome to you as it is to all
Thinking types. Given that Feelings are your inferior function, with Venus
and Mercury in Scorpio (Water) the indication is those two planets operate
from a relatively unconscious state. brbr In addition, Venus which has to do
with relationships but also your sense of appreciation and beauty and your
sense of self-worth is relatively unaspected and so it is weakly integrated
within your psyche which tends to restate its unconsciousness. Scorpio
itself gives intensity to Venus but it remains unconscious. There is
something of the Persephone - Hades myth to this position. It might help
you better access your Venus by meditating on that myth and bringing it more
into consciousness. BRBR The recommended Jeff Green book on Pluto is pretty
good. And Pluto (Hades) is a major player in the Persephone myth. But from
my perspective your difficulty is not with Pluto which is in Libra (Air)
because you are actually gifted in Thinking. The problems come from those
areas in the psyche that are undeveloped, relatively weak, dark and
unconscious. Those are the areas that cry out for therapy and strengthening.
In my opinion you would be wise to get Liz Greene’s Psychological Horoscope
from this site. She will describe your strengths and weaknesses and their
effects in your life and she will give strategies for dealing with the
weaknesses.

i have two questions: (first) - if on (birth) chart data it says 7:28 does
that automatically mean 7a.m.? if time had been p.m., would data say 19:28?
knowing this saves me from calling up the chart needlessly
second qstn - is there any way (other than having one's own software) to show
only a particular aspect, such as Quintile, on a chart? showing All lines =
a jumble
i tried to ask for a 5th harmonic chart, but since birthdate involved is the
8th, got an 8H chart. (i guess that's why) moot point however as it turns
out i don't have a clue as to how to read a harmonic chart (had hoped this

To correct my last entry: I will be unable to independently verify the
position given for your Moon by this site since the program I use (Solar
Fire Delux) uses the same ephemeris used by this site. I believe it was
Alois Trendl, the webmaster of this site, and support staff that developed
the Swiss Ephemeris as a computer-storage-friendly compression of the
JPL-Ephemeris DE406. That is the same Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in
Pasedena, California that controls most of America’s unmanned space-craft and
activities such as threading a satellite through the rings of Saturn or the
rendezvous and descent of the Huygens probe onto the surface of Titan from a
distance of approximately 750 million miles. You can imagine the accuracy
required for such precise rendezvous and the expense if JPL misses the mark
by even a few arc-seconds.

Consider the possibility that the previous charts you've constructed were in
error or that there is an operator error on your part. You can bank on the
accuracy of the ephemeris and the local time corrections used at this site.

Hello,
I am a female born 25 July 1961 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A. 5:07 a.m.
By your calculations I have an ascendant in Cancer. I bleieve that they were
not observing daylight saving time in 1961 in Wisconsin.
I looked up the Time of Sunrise at the U. S. Naval Obsevatory in 1961 and it
is listed as 4:35 a.m., when you check in 1967, they list it as being Central
Daylight time.
Would that mean I have ascendant in Leo, as I have always thought? I know

this could be a mistake?

Hello Astrodienst, thanks for your site, packed with information.
I have three questions, and would love to hear your thoughts.
1: What does 'Ingress' mean? (In the Swiss Ephemeris section.)
2: With the free compatability reports in 'My Astro', why does it only have
'Partner' option? Why not 'Family', and 'Friends'? Surely they're important
too! And as vaulable to us as a Partner.
3: I have the Star of David formation in my natal chart (also experiencing
1st Saturn return), and it's made of planets: as opposed to asteroids. Have
been told this is a very rare formation, and lucky too: where can I find
information as to how to utilise this positive force please? (Because this

To HB (2 lines below) regarding Chiron return:
If you are looking at your Progressed chart and you are 27 years old you are
actually looking at a chart 27 DAYS after you were born. The method uses 1
day per year for Secondary Progressions. In 27 days Chiron, a rather
slow-moving planet, will not have moved very far from it's natal position in
your chart.
Chiron return, on the other hand, will be found in a chart of Transits to
your nativity. The aspects from today's planets to your natal planets are
your current Transits and this is what you are given in the Personal Daily
Horoscope on this site.

Dear Alois-
Several years ago I got my psychological horoscope using Version 3.1 of your
expert system from a service in Brewster, MA, USA which is licenced to use
your system. Since then I have found Astrodienst and get all my Liz Greene
horoscopes directly from you and I am a very satisfied repeat customer. I am
wondering if a new reading using the latest version of your software would be
worthwhile for me. I am specifically interested in how Chiron fits into my
psychology as I have this planetoid in close conjunction with Venus which is
my Sun and Ascendant ruler and, in addition, Chiron forms a 3 degree square
with my high focus Uranus as the Trigger configuration in my Bowl chart. In
addition, Chiron is precisely at the mid-point of the Ascendant and the
Midheaven in my chart. All of these factors make me believe that Chiron is
very important to me psychologically.
My question is would it be worthwhile to get a new psychological horoscope
from you and would it include the psychological impact, gifts and challenges
of Chiron in my chart?

Alois adds: The Psychological Horoscope has not been significantly changed
since we first published it. Chiron is considered to some extent since a
while, but not weighted heavily. I personally still look at is a something of
a 'fashion nature' and am not sure it will keep its current status in
astrology forever.
Hello,
I am 27 years old (born 9/15/1978 10:30am in Atlanta GA). I just Looked at
my natal chart and progressions in your Extended Chart Selections tool. (An
awesome tool! Thank you very much for that.) But, based on the chart it
appears that I am about to undergo my Chiron return. Is that possible or is
it an error. I was under the impression that this only occured at the age of
50? I'm bewildered! Thanks in advance.

Alois adds: You natal Chiron is at 9 taurus, and transiting Chiron is
currently at 9 Aquarius. It will reach 9 Taurus only in the year 2029.
You must look at transits for returns, not at progressed charts.
Hallo,

Kindly, stop sending advertisements to my email address. Thank you so very
much for your cooperation. I have written a few requests to your
organization, however my request has not been honored. Again, thank you for
your cooperation.

Alois adds: Astrodienst sends between three and four emails per year to its
registered users. We consider this a very modest marketing activity.
To stop receiving these mails, you simply have to
'unregister' on the 'my astro' page.
All registrations, changes of email etc are handled by the users themselves,
not by our staff. This is why delete requests you send to us are ignored.
Alternatively, you can register with an
email identity whose incoming mail you ignore.
Please see also the FAQ How can I delete my user
profile?
I have been wondering for a long time why positive Jupiter-transits seem to
be getting ignored, and this goes for your forecasts in particular.
You seem to be Saturn-aware, Uranus-aware, Neptune-aware and Pluto-aware.
At long last: what about Jupiter and all its reconciling effects it
brings?
Kind regards

Have you considered lowering your prices for your extended Partner readings?
I think this may be getting in the way of extending your customer base, as
46+ is a lot to pay to simply look into the possibility of a relationship
with somebody new, each time taking the risk that it might *not* be a good
relationship match. Might it be worth a change to see if it promotes your
sales?

Alois adds: I think that Liz Greene's "Relationship Horoscope" contains
too much psychological in-depth information, and is not really usefull just to play
around with, looking at it for every in-spe partner you might encounter.
Reducing the price would not be helpful, we would also have to reduce the
depth of the reading.
Our recommendation is that it is only used for understanding real
relationships, i.e. love relationships which have already happened or are
in process of happening. For simply looking around, you might want to
try the free 'Astroclick partner' tool. Or your own judgement and instinct.
We do not really believe in sales promition by lowering prices. Quality
has always had its prices, and there are no cheap Jaguar cars or solid gold
watches out there. Maximizing sales is not a major goal of our operation. We
just need to make enough to keep going.
The word relentless, as you use it in the English version of astrologial
jargon, could be used in Italian as implacabile rather than inflessibile.
This, because you determinately give it a positive meaning.

Alois adds: of course our calculation is correct. There was daylight saving
time on that date.
Vielen Dank, Alois, für Ihre Antwort auf meine Frage über die verschiedenen
Sprachen beim Astrodienst. Als Beispiel von den Abweichungen wollte ich
zitieren den Artikel How to Find your Vocation in the Horoscope by Beatrix
Braukmüller - § Example: Andrea - A clerk - Steps 1-3. In der spanischen
Version wird Wassermann als Wasserzeichnen (signo fijo de agua) bezeichnet.

Alois adds: Das ist natürlich falsch.
Today's Horoscope reading for me is Mercury opposition Mars. The reading
talks of being argumentative and sharp tongued. However, I think my
experience is more subtle. I was laid off from my job this morning. My
first thought was to go to an agency and immediately get temporary work. My
head understands the reasoning behind my employer's decision and is
accepting. But, my gut is in turmoil! I must get in touch with the anger
and outrage and turmoil -- until the mind can make sense of this and I can
move forward -- without the anger and resentment!

Hallo, Herr Lois, eine wichtige Frage, in welcher Sprache wurden die
Astrodienst Webseite, die freien Horoskopen, usw. original geschrieben, in
english oder deutsch?
bedeutende unterschiede aufweisen. Danke. JHCibils

Hey I love your sight. I have just recently been attempting to figure out how
to get readings on sidereal charts and to purchase the sidereal program from
you. Do you have a sidereal program to purchase? Fagan Bradley. And if so,
does it give aspects and explanations (interpretations)? For example I have
found the way to calculate sidereal but i have found no way to interpret it
on your sight. Thank you for your time.

Hello,
I am unsure of the accuracy of your website. I entered in my information and
it says I have moon in Saggitarius, however every book and website I have
read says I have moon in Scorpio. Could you please clear this up?
Thanks!
p.s. I would rather not enter in my personal information unless not posted on
the site.

our calculations are correct. Your data entry is the only possible source of
error.
Just wanted to make a small comment on your website and the service you are
offering: the most positive and also unique thing about your dealing with
astrology, I find the emphasis you lay on growth and insights... Everytime I
read the daily horoscope or the personal portrait I feel a great freedom to
use the available energies in my own way. I also almost always recognize what
is being described, as I am trying to become more aware of energy in general
without judgment, instead of how to change myself, or how to change negative
influences. I think it is very important to make a note about this aspect of
your website! Thanks,
with heartful greetings,
Girisha

Dear Astrodienst - I have just recently found you, have spent several intense
days looking up everything and feel obligated to write a fan letter. Please
permit me to say your astrology program (Alois) is elegant, clean and nothing
short of brilliant. Your writers (Greene, Hand et al) are not just great,
but entirely profound (my other favorites are Mary Shea with her solars,
Demetra George with her asteroids, and Erin Sullivan with Saturn and
retrogrades - any chance you could get them involved?). And evidently
everyone involved in vision, integration and dissemination is along the same
lines. I am in awe and simply delighted (with the interactive portion) and
want to take the opportunity to say thank you. You have a new convert.
We've come a long way, baby! Thank our lucky stars...
With deep affection, Peggy
